The State Office of Rehabilitation (currently, but not for much longer) falls under the rubric of the State Board of Education. I'm on the State Rehabilitation Council, which advises the State Office of Rehabilitation, whose director the Superintendent recently fired (there were reasons for it, but I felt it was akin to blaming somebody who reported a fire for actually starting the fire; I know things like that do happen, but I don't think that's what happened in this case). So far, I've seen a helluva lot of disruption from the Superintendent and not a whole lot of innovation. (Shortly, it's not going to matter, as a legislative audit is being conducted that I believe will recommend that Rehabilitation be removed from the BOE's rubric. (More disruption.) Since then, in a span of 3-4 months, Rehabilitation has had one interim director and one allegedly-permanent director (who ... who knows? ... might be replaced again when Rehabilitation is moved. Yet more disruption.) Lots of disruption, precious little innovation. But hey, whaddo I know? I don't have any degrees from Harvard. Edited July 15, 2015 by Kenngo1969
