Agree. My thoughts are that "AT POINT ZERO" before God sets out to start a new generation of the Plan of Happiness, He approaches the "Council of the Gods" to be given leave to recruit that vast cohort of intelligences. In order to begin the implementation of the Plan, They must verify ("looking into the future") that a "Lamb of God" is provided as a sacrifice to make everything possible. Including all the contentions in the pre-existence, acquisition of matter "unorganized", setting up a "Garden of Eden" primed for the Fall, all the natural disasters and grief, and the deliberate rebellions and perversions and agonies. The Resurrection is the gift made possible by the Atonement. This is the "price" the Father and His Lamb of God were willing to pay (IN FULL) to make ALL the experiences possible. So even if reprobates don't appreciate that price, it was necessary to bring about the next Eternal Round.

This board used to be filled with robust discussions of deep doctrine, theology, and history by a very large group and variety of posters. I wish those days would return. 3

teddyaware Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Apropos to this discussion, I find it difficult to understand how some testimony bearing members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints find it difficult to believe, and even find it embarrassing and ridiculous to believe, that the exalted kings and queens of heaven, who reside in the highest degree of glory in the celestial kingdom, would be given the privilege and sacred responsibility to preside over a world or worlds (planets). Where else in all creation are the exalted kings and queens of heaven supposed to rule and reign if not on some world like unto our earth? Is it any less absurd to believe that these glorified royal beings, who have been promised that they will rule nations while seated upon the very throne God himself, will exercise their rulership in a realm where everything and everyone floats around somewhere in the emptiness of space? Could it be that too many members of the church are easily embarrassed and intimidated by the doomed worldly wise fools who stand mock the partakers of the fruit of the tree of life from the windows of the large and spacious building? Or am I wrong and it will turn out that the royal titles of king and queen in heaven will turn out to be mere ceremonial honors, like receiving an honorary degree from a university? 19… Ye shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depths—then shall it be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, that he shall commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, and if ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their exaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of the seeds forever and ever. 20 Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them. (Doctrine and Covenants 132) Edited 7 hours ago by teddyaware

Why do you assume embarrassment rather than caution on reading into revelation our own ideas? I like the word “presiding” in this context as it does not imply wandering off from the family to uncharted places and starting one’s own creation in isolation, but rather overseeing delegated work of the Father just as a bishop cares for his ward or parents care for their children in an extended family, but maintain close ties to others.
