Duncan Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 On June 23, there is supposed to be a special broadcast for ward and stake council members, new Mission Presidents (held in conjunction with the new Mission President Seminar) full time missionaries and all interested Church members. Does anyone know more about this meeting? Both Pres. Monson and Packer are supposed to speak
mfbukowski Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 It's just one of those trainings they have annually usually for PEC types- they are opening it up to the full ward councils this time, and all members who want to attend. They used to be called "World Wide Leadership Meetings"- I am not sure what this one will be called.Pres Monson forgot to call me for my opinion this time! 1
Freedom Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I will be speaking at this conference. Or more likely texting. With my wife that is.
ksfisher Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 It's not the World Wide Leadership Training Meeting. That came out on DVD a couple of months ago and is available on the church's website.https://www.lds.org/training/wwlt/2013?lang=eng
blackstrap Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Now , if everyone were to be asked to meet at Adam-ondi-Ahman ,I would be more interested. 1
Duncan Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 I haven't heard of it yet in my neck of the woods.what? My stake clerk bro. got a info sheet thing about maybe you'll get it soon?

Muc'ul Ajwalil Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Interesting this direction. It asks for the stakes and wards to adjust their schedules so everyone can be present at the meeting on 23 June. Heard about this the first time on the Wood Zone and on LDSFF

Muc'ul Ajwalil Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 well, maybe they'll announce something new?The partially apocaliptic mind in me would think that they are going to announce some new policy in the Church or a change in Church procedure that would be rather big, but at the same time needs to be below the radar (given that at General Conference the media attention will be focused there front and center). What change? I cannot say.

That came out on DVD a couple of months ago and is available on the church's website.https://www.lds.org/...t/2013?lang=engyeah- that's why I said this:I am not sure what this one will be called. It'll be about the using the Ward Council more effectively for Missionary work. But they're getting smart and about getting people hyped up for these meetings. We are all moving to Missouri, finally. The church bought the entire state secretly. Edited May 23, 2013 by mfbukowski 1
ksfisher Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 We are all moving to Missouri, finally. The church bought the entire state secretly.I didn't realize that the church's vast corporate empire had made enough money off of the City Creek Mall to be able to buy the state. Is Canada for sale? Perhaps the church could buy now cheap and make a killing if the market for northern hemisphere countries goes up.

You can keep Ryan Seacrest, Steve Carell, whoever sings Disco Duck, the Guy from the Shamwow commercials, Mel Gibson, Wayne Newton and Lady Gag-maybe Belgium wants them? Edited May 23, 2013 by Duncan
Freedom Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 So this is a sunday broadcast? I assume it is in the evening so as not to interfere with church and previously scheduled stake conferences.

BookofMormonLuvr Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Since they are terming it an "historic event", I would believe it is something more then a simple training meeting. <shrug> 1

The Nehor Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Since they are terming it an "historic event", I would believe it is something more then a simple training meeting. <shrug>The Brethren thought that rededicating the tabernacle was a historic event. Until they raise the bar on what a historic event is I will be skeptical. If it is about missionary work I guess I should go. 3
mfbukowski Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 It's probably "historic" because it's a topical broadcast (not general training- not conference- not the sort of broadcasts we usually have) and it includes all those on the Ward Council as opposed to just the priesthood leaders. When you think about it, we never have those kind of meetings. If one was so inclined one could even see this as historic just for including the sisters as "leaders"- which of course is clear to everyone but not always acknowledged. 1

ERMD Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I still haven't received this letter. We usually get them about 6 weeks after they are dated. Pony Express to Texas?

Though Im skeptical that it would come so quickly after the lowering of the ages. Edited May 26, 2013 by Avatar4321
