Duncan Posted May 26, 2013 Author Posted May 26, 2013 It's my understanding that we will at somepoint. Though Im skeptical that it would come so quickly after the lowering of the ages.that's true, maybe they'll announce missionaries are now required to wear their name tags on the right?! and the banning of opening your mission call and putting it on the youtube
Calm Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 the banning of opening your mission call and putting it on the youtubeThat would be a blessing to us all. 3
ERayR Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) It's probably "historic" because it's a topical broadcast (not general training- not conference- not the sort of broadcasts we usually have) and it includes all those on the Ward Council as opposed to just the priesthood leaders. When you think about it, we never have those kind of meetings. If one was so inclined one could even see this as historic just for including the sisters as "leaders"- which of course is clear to everyone but not always acknowledged.Depends on whether one wants a learning opportunity or an excuse to complain about and ridicule the Church. ERayR Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 The Brethren thought that rededicating the tabernacle was a historic event. Until they raise the bar on what a historic event is I will be skeptical. If it is about missionary work I guess I should go.If you think it will help you.
ERayR Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 i was thinking that too, what could be more big then lowering the ages, they wouldn't discontinue missions or missionaries,, I dunno, although I am anxious to find out!Nope, they are expanding the number of missions.
grhammjr Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I will be speaking at this conference. Or more likely texting. With my wife that is.
The Nehor Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 If you think it will help you.As long as it is on missionary work, blood atonement, or Adam-God I am in. 1
KorbenDallas Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 This guy seems to pump it up a lot...http://svu.edu/speeches/education-conference/2013/lee-donaldson
Duncan Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Nope, they are expanding the number of missions.well, you have to tell us now!!!!! This mission geographically is the largest in the world but only has three small stakes and a even smaller district, I can't imagine they'll split it, even though geographically it would make some sense but numberswise not at all
David T Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 This guy seems to pump it up a lot...http://svu.edu/speec...3/lee-donaldsonLee Donaldson was the Mission President over the Mission featured in the "Preach My Gospel: The Disctrict 2" DVD training series. More important to me, however, he was a counselor in my branch presidency while I attended the MTC. Conversations I've had with him have been very influential on how I approach study. He took a personal interest in my wellbeing while I was there (I was a late-twenties intellectually minded older convert with a beyond immature clownish 19yo companion who loved to bait me, and who refused to study Spanish). Whether or not I may agree with all of his scholarship, he's an awesome individual who I will always be grateful for and respect. 2

I've been meaning to touch base with him for a while now.
mfbukowski Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 well, you have to tell us now!!!!! mfbukowski Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) As long as it is on missionary work, blood atonement, or Adam-God I am in.I think you have hit it.They are about to canonize the Adam God theory and blood atonement -both. As faithful members we are to lobby each state and country to bring back capital execution by guillotine. With popular doctrine like that, the missionary work will take care of itself.I have heard a rumor that there will statements about the doctrinal status of zombies and the ethics of killing them. Avatar4321 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Im curious to see this. Is it going to be viewable at a later point in time? I dont think my schedule will let me see it at the time its going to occur.

Avatar4321 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Yes.....Are you some kind of bigot against the animated dead?Very much so.

In this mission and I have heard others in the Central area, baptisms are WAY down. this mission had 1 in May and so far they have had 25 this year. That's deplorable. I don't know why or what but I really feel for these missionaries doing all they can do
mfbukowski Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 The ethics of killing various types of zombies are confusing. Are Nazi zombies worse?http://m.youtube.com...h?v=90TW-p3rkQkWell I could give you a definitive answer for that but it would close the thread for a violation of the Godwin Commandment.

Duncan Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 (edited) That's too bad. You guys really need to get your temple.I know! I know! hahaha, oh man! it's mind boggling to even think about. It's been 2.5 years since it was announced and so far it hasn't been approved yet. On FB I even asked the church newsroom folks to release the photo, at least give us something! but a few months later I got a well worded email from the stake president saying not to do that...blurg. oh well, like the wicked witch of the west once said, "all in good time, all in good time!" Calm Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Yes.....Are you some kind of bigot against the animated dead?Just think of the potential for adding names to the membership records if we start doing missionary work among zombies and other undead creatures...
