Your always well meaning omnipresent hovering over my posts in a kind of god like presence reminds me of a the first song on Denis Leary's old No Cure for Cancer Album.  I gives me comfort knowing that you've always got my back and helps remind me that I should never make a post without both my glasses on and having my spell checker running.  But If I fail to do that, its a comfort knowing that you are always there to correct me and set me right.  Thanks for all you do.

The Moroni statue has not disappeared from any temple, new or old. If anything, the opposite has occurred, with statues being placed on some temples that didn’t have them originally. 

You are attempting to be funny right?  You honestly believe I post here to draw clicks to my posts? 

This story was news to me and I thought it was something that others would find interesting as well.  It appeared to me as a shift away from tradition where a statue of Moroni has been placed on modern temples.  Whats next? Crosses on churches?  I don't see that as an unforeseen conclusion either.   As the church attempts to move away from it's uniquely LDS doctrines and focus more on generic Christian focus, would it surprise anyone were the church to embrace the Cross?

There's no way they'd ever embrace the cross.
But I do see to some extent "attempts to move away" from some unique doctrines.  And yet at the same time I see more openness in owning certain other ones.

P.S.:  I suspect whatever you said in the post you deleted is closer to your true feelings on the matter.  If that's the case, there are certain things that I say that I wouldn't take too seriously, if I were you.  But if you are absolutely determined to take umbrage, I can't stop you.  In any case, I wish you well.

I disagree because I remember there being some kind of cross on the Rome or Italy temple's doors. But could be wrong. I think they'll incorporate the cross more now, with all the focus on Jesus Christ more. This Sunday they'll show an in between conference documentary on how artist's renditions of Christ speaks volumes. My words not theirs. I think you'll see the cross not being as bad as before in the church. Or culturally not as bad as it was during the David O. We need to distinguish between the cross in LDS theology and worship where it occupies a preeminent position and it’s lack of use as an object of worship or adornment.

I think that it would be neat if the Moroni statues were still placed on temple grounds (say, in fountains or gardens); but I do understand them being removed from prominent places like the tops of steeples.

Maybe the church is thinking they are like lightening rods.

Nope, it was merely a double post of the same info.  My reply-post expresses my sincere appreciation for all of your well intended oversight of every post I make.  I mean somebody has to do it right?  I'm glad that you've taken on that role.  I look forward to your future supervision of any future post after all you're obviously a Denis Leary fan with nothing better to do right?

I explained why I think the thread title as written is misleading, and my reasoning stands. 
 

There has not as yet been an angel statue removed from a temple, there continue to be temples constructed with angel statues, and there’s no reason to think this will change. 
 

An angel statue has never been a required feature for a temple; some older temples do not have it. To conclude that the absence of a statue on some newer temples indicates a watering down of the Church’s uniqueness is to ignore what goes on day after day within the temples.

Some of the statues are deliberately designed with that as a secondary purpose. It’s not a bad thing.

Duh, I guess that would be a good thing then. So are our spirals at the churches used for the same thing? Or probably coincide with Bernard's literally and figuratively reply. :)
