I didn't fully appreciate the profundity of this verse until a couple of years ago in a Gospel Principles class when a class member outlined the context. This was right before he brought Lazarus back from the dead. Jesus knew exactly what he was going to do, knew that the reason Mary and Martha were weeping would soon be rectified, and yet he still took time to stop and mourn with the family. What was important to them was important to him. 1

For the last year or so it has been Alma 22:18 "O God, Aaron hath told me that there is a God; and if there is a God and if thou art God, wilt thou make thyself known unto me, and I will give away all my sins to know thee." In the last couple of years, my thoughts have kept coming back to this verse, and reflecting on what is holding me back from truly knowing God and feeling Him manifest in my life. 1
