Which is one of my favorites, btw. Took my son to Saving Private Ryan. Interesting after most movies people are talking, and just being sociable. Dead silence after that movie.

This movie has been on the Movie Channel recently and I couldn't bring myself to watch it (I had seen it before) because I was so angry at the soldier who was such a coward that when he was given the task of taking additional ammunition to other soldiers who were running out, he just cowered in a protected corrner, eventually causing the death of the others... It really affected me emotionally even though just a movie... but I felt such anger and disgust at his cowardice that I can't watch it. GG

I've been called a hero, even got awards and public recognition for it. IMNTBHO A hero is just a guy that so scared he ran the wrong way. I am a big Christopher Nolan fan and am fascinated by astronomy and physics, but I thought the movie was just alright, maybe a little better than alright, but not great. I didn't enjoy it as much as I had anticipated. I thought the ending was very M. Night Shyamalan-ish and much of the storyline and dialogue felt overly contrived.

We decided to watch in order of chronology rather than release date. This way we get the not-as-good ones out of the way first. A lot of people would rather ignore the prequels entirely but I don't hate them as much as others do.

Tacenda Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I never could get into the Star Wars thing... in fact, I've never seen even one of the Star Wars films...GGI saw the first and only Star Wars, on a horrible first date that someone set me up on. That guy was so mean and made fun of my parent's home, called it a Cracker Jack Box, we lived in a condo at the time. So all that kind of ruined my Star Wars experience.

I liked interstellar until the end, then it pretty much fell apart for me. Too weird.

I thought the first one was ok. There's a lot of movies based on young adult novels that take place in a dystopian futures.

It get's a little boring towards the end only because, being a classic fairytale, you already know what's going to happen. The prince bugged me a bit. I thought he was a little weird looking. Tonight we are going to see Everest and i have high hopes for that one.

bluebell Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Can you give just a very brief premise of the story, i.e., general theme...GGThe movie is the true story of a climbing disaster that happened on Everest in 1996 when too many people tried to summit on the same day and then a bad storm hit unexpectedly. A lot of people died. It's based on the book "into thin air" written by John Krakaurer (I'm probably spelling that wrong), a journalist who happened to have actually been in one of the climbing parties that lost a lot of people. It's very well made with excellent actors. I didn't realize it had so many well known actors in it.
