No More Display Name Login With Board Upgrade

It is imperative that you update your emails to your most current and accessible email.  Once we do the update, which I’m holding off till bug and configuration fixes are completed, the site will be using your email to login not your display name.  Save yourself some hassle and fix your emails.  If you need help let me know.

I couldn't do the budget on Saturday because after a power outage and reboot Microsoft wants my wife's password to an email address that hasn't been used for along time. 20 years?

Passwords...always changing...you can't just have one for everything. I just want to say goodbye in the event my email isn't correct. Which would mean yet another new password. I have already tried pressing every icon on my phone to find out my email. I know it has changed in the last fifteen years.

No, no, I don’t want to lose you.  Please sign in under a new name if it boots you out.  Pleaseeeeee.  You can’t receive messages, so here’s my email (will delete it after you have had a chance to save it if you want) if something prevents you.

I understand if your brain doesn’t track this kind of stuff (I have lost friends because I have forgotten to check in for way too long because that kind of planning isn’t easy for me and then I feel too awkward after all that time and don’t know what to say, so end up not writing at all).  I don’t want you to feel pressured, though not sure how to avoid that while conveying how much I want to stay connected somehow.   
 

If anyone else is concerned and wants to hold on to my email as an option to help flag down Nemesis and are worried contacting him directly might not work or just typically prepare for the worst, hope for the best  (I am a belt and braces kind of person, so always like to have a backup just in case) or even just think you might want to pass on a message to the board without having to sign back up immediately, go ahead and save.  Just be aware I sometimes go for a couple of days without checking my email when I am in avoidance mode.

I keep thinking of Mfb and wishing he was here.  Wonder what happened to sometimesaint and mudcat and so many others.  Any time anyone steps away from the board, I miss them, like a neighbor moving away, only typically harder because I rarely get to have such great conversations with my neighbors.  Grateful to all those showing up still after years and grateful to those who just stepped in for a short time (but greedy for more).

Just click on your name in the top right corner and then "account settings." I found my email address. 

Worst case scenario: New account named 3DOP Sockpuppet.

I think you can also update your password in the account settings as well.

Just remember I can merge old accounts if that happens.  But email address should be under account settings.  There’s always a fix.

Just fyi, no complaint.  I just lost a post that disappeared when I submitted it.  The captcha check box popped up afterwards, so I assume you haven’t had the chance to fix it yet, but just in case it seemed like it should work now, it isn’t yet.

Are you familiar with Quora.com?

If you remember LeSellers, according to his profile, he last visited the board in April 2012, and I seem to recall that he posted an official "Goodbye" around that time (I can't find it anywhere). I was disappointed we wouldn't see him around any longer.

But he is still here on earth! I recently found him online answering questions on Quora.com using the screen name Le Sellers. I tried to get him to confess that MDDB.LeSellers and Quora.Le Sellers are the same person, but he adroitly avoided admitting it! You can find his Quora profile HERE if you're interested.

@Robert F. Smith hasn't visited MDDB since February, but he's active on Quora as well. As am I.
