Any chore you oddly hate?

I like loading the dishwasher, but I hate putting in the soap. We use tabs, so it's not like I am missing the spot and needing to clean it up.  It's easy, but I hate to do it. 

What about you?

Dishes. I love to cook and don't have a dishwasher. So I feel like I'm always doing dishes. Like all the time. It's the worse prize after a delicious meal.

That and toilets. Not really the bowl, but anything that I need to get close to with a rag.

Minding the trash:  

including sorting the recyclables, changing the liners, taking the full bags to the trash barrels, and on collection day, moving the barrels to the curb, and then returning them to their spot in the garage when I return from work later in the day.  

And when the cans and/or barrels start getting too smelly:  washing, disinfecting and otherwise attempting to deodorize them.  There is a moment maybe once each year when one feels a certain exhilaration about the near pristine state of one's trash cans, but this is just a fleeting foolish feeling, for it all very quickly goes south...again.  

It's actually just another example of the Pride Cycle.

And sweeping.  I hate to sweep!  But with 4 kids (the youngest being 2 and 3 years old) and two cats i sweep at least three times a day (and that's not counting the sweeping that is done after dinner as one of the chores done by the oldest two).  My dream is to some day get a roomba.

I agree, I always help my wife with any household chore, and washing windows were the worse. As a man, I have the attitude that the only thing that is woman's work is giving birth and breast feeding...everything else is just work, and nothing is beneath. An attitude that I instilled in my sons. The things I can cook without everyone complaining, I will cook when my wife lets me. My wife is not below me, but my equal in every way.I also do not care how my friends feel about me, despite being made fun of by many. While in the Army, I ironed all my uniforms every night...a habit I still do with all my closes. Probably because I am care deeply about how I look...it is hard to get those 8 years in the Army who drilled protection in appearance into me, even in my haircuts. Either way, I do not, nor would I ever make my wife feel like a doormat. I cherish her, and her feelings mean to much to her. Also, dispite my age, I am always to set and example for my sons...so call me henpecked if you like...but I believe this is the Christlike way to show love to women, mothers, and all women.

To teach members the value of service, and that doing so shows humility. Also to teach that no task is to is beneath any member. I for on like service, and volunteer often...even though their is little I can. These days I ask to volunteer openly, so my children do so, as they know I can do little so they will assist knowing I can't do much so I won't hurt myself.

Love this  My truth is my husband could out iron me any day...he was better at it...faster...and loved doing it while watching football games.  You rock Papa!

Jane_Doe, I read somewhere that your dishwasher needs you to not pre-wash, it has a sensor and if it can't sense food, it won't do as good of job. But this may be nonsense too. And it could depend on the dishwasher. Lately I've found that my dishes aren't coming clean as well and I'm pre-washing too.

Ironing...though it is more the thought of doing it than doing it.

They did.  My grandparents counted on their subsidy from the church for cleaning inside and ground work for many years.

Thought and thought about this. It's come down to...organizing photos and getting them in photo albums or getting them put into books for my kids. 

Cleaning out my basement to figure out what can go to the D.I. or ?.

Or finish painting my trim in my house. I've put these chores off for so long. Something will have to get me to finish.

Ever since all the years of hubby being unemployed or underemployed, getting the mail gives us both anxiety. Even though things are fine now we still have to force ourselves to get it and sometimes go as long as 7 or 8 days without checking. I'm sure our mail lady thinks we are nuts.

We can go for two weeks without picking it up.  It is so stupid because it is probably the anxiety of overdue bills that leads us to put it off.
