Is this so far out there it is ludicrous, or is it a topic that may have to be addressed in GC in the next 40 years (Scott Lloyd can start a timer on that )? What makes it different than masturbation, morally speaking? Edited March 26, 2015 by Coreyb
Rain Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Would you please post the question? On my phone I can't see it because an ad keeps popping up.

Is this so far out there it is ludacris, or is it a topic that may have to be addressed in GC in the next 40 years (Scott Lloyd can start a timer on that )? What makes it different than masturbation, morally speaking? Not ludicrous. Not any different than masturbation.Hopefully it never happens, but there are already all kinds of sex toys.
The Nehor Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 We have already received revelation on this matter: 2
Mormonmaniac Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I do not believe that robots will ever gain sentience. They may appear to be really realistic but it will always be just a machine incapable of emotions and feelings. The sexbots are becoming a reality though but will always be just another sex toy. I see people falling in love with them though as they will be made to appear on the outside as human. I guess it leads to what is a sexual perversion and what is not? At what point does a n intimate object become a sin?
Coreyb Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 What does Ludacris have to do with this?Haha, thanks for catching that.

Mola Ram Suda Ram Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Which brings up the question of is masturbation a sin? When I was a kid, yes, now not so much.
Mola Ram Suda Ram Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015  Well, I am as confused as you are.
Gray Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 We have already received revelation on this matter: When will this nation see its first openly robosexual president? 1
Scott Lloyd Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 As far as I can tell, no one has yet asked the obvious question, so I'll be the one: Given the current trajectory, will it be any great leap between this and demanding legalization of marriage to one's robot?
pogi Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 When will this nation see its first openly robosexual president? We first have to legalize robosexual marriages before that will ever happen. But perhaps we will someday welcome that president and his first lady...I mean, first robot. 1

We'll have to implement the Turing test for robo-consent. But first, robo-citizenship!
Mormonmaniac Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 What if they legalize robot marriage and two robots want to get married and have baby bots?
The Nehor Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 As far as I can tell, no one has yet asked the obvious question, so I'll be the one: Given the current trajectory, will it be any great leap between this and demanding legalization of marriage to one's robot? There are already people having fake marriages with their sex dolls. Do not ask me to supply proof as there are older and fouler things then porn in the deep areas of the interwebz. I do not want to go back. You can't make me! I will die first!

Yes. That leap would be quite considerable. But, given that the SSM naysayers predictions about the collapse of "traditional" marriage have proven to be false, perhaps this suggestion may prove to be the next ridiculous scare tactic. The Nehor Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Yes. That leap would be quite considerable. But, given that the SSM naysayers predictions about the collapse of "traditional" marriage have proven to be false, perhaps this suggestion may prove to be the next ridiculous scare tactic. I am pretty sure the collapse is supposed to take longer. 2
strappinglad Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Two robots, one male one female, are talking. The male bot is holding a screw driver. The female bot says, " you do and you'll have to marry me ! ". That joke, my friends, is over 30 years old, so the OP is late to the party.
Glenn101 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Yes. That leap would be quite considerable. But, given that the SSM naysayers predictions about the collapse of "traditional" marriage have proven to be false, perhaps this suggestion may prove to be the next ridiculous scare tactic. SSM is just another step in the destruction of the traditional marriage. The attack on traditional families has been going on for decades. 1
thatjimguy Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Well, I am as confused as you are. Wasn't there a church leader recently that said something to the effect that it is now not considered the same scale of transgression that looking at pornography was?
