I think it was Hugh Nibley who said it seems like everyone is mingling at some kind of eternal family picnic and after fifteen minutes of that you will long for the flames. I have even met people convinced heaven is like an eternal sacrament meeting. I couldn't figure out why they wanted to go to heaven....... 1

WysteriaBlue Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I may sound stupid...but it I think of all the man made/devil induced divisions and strife: jealousy, strife, discord, greed, war, hatred, disconnection, folly, irrationality, doubt, fear, disharmony, malice, judgements, despair, death, lust, rape, murder, superiority, inequality, racism, dejection, subjugation, lack of compassion or empathy, isolation, neglect, injustice, divisions,discord, lack of connections, etc... and then see the opposite in terms of a world filled with compassion, joy, freedom, reuniting, hugs, courage, love, empathy, forgiveness, mercy, connection, laughter, integrity, wisdom, truth, tenderness, pure justice, friendships, security, protection, appreciation for even the smallest delights, togetherness, and life...with nothing but love and connection to all that is returned in full...spirit filled awe and excitement of all that we missed. I guess that is what heaven would be like for me. I imagine like Nehor said that there woul be a "sundering of ego", joy in the accomplishments of all,, and even tapioca for those that really want it... I do think that without the evil spirit's influence, natural man, and the divisions caused by the ego of man, Heaven would be a safe haven of joy and fulfillment and enlightenment. I hope for peace and unparalled justice and truth. But I am just a dreamer.

That would be great...except, after awhile in the celestial room I'm looking for something to do. But there is nothing "to do" there. I would imagine it being more like the entire temple experience, where there is always something to do and everyone is needed to do it.

Theoretical Physicists have postulated the existence of 16 dimensions, I wonder if we'll be allowed in there to play? Will there be Dragons? Will I have wings? How about Leviathan? Tacenda Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 In our mortal bodies, even the best pleasure if it continues eventually dulls and is not longer so pleasurable, if pleasurable at all (think of the first bite of your favourite food after not having it for a year…ummm, lovely….now think of the hundredth bite…uh, yech, and vomiting due to an overstuffed stomach and likely never wanting to touch that particular delight again). Heaven, I suspect, will remove the physical limitations of sense and we will experience what we experience in all its dimensions no matter how long we are exposed to it. If you haven't already, you should read CS Lewis' The Great Divorce, it is a wonderful speculation about heaven and hell. Is that maybe what our religion believes? I almost wouldn't mind hell if that is the case, because I can't fathom the CK as it's been purported by some or most, to be. Plus, just the thought of no need for food or speaking without even having to speak, freaks me out, or anything really unusual. And the thought of doing temple work in the 1000 yr. millennium, 24/7, would about make me feel like I'm in hell, no offense but wouldn't that have to be a non stop activity to save every soul that lived on the earth practically? Or since I'm out of the loop I would get to skip it, only to miss my chance to live with God I guess. Which is the driving force behind the goal to go to the CK in the first place I guess. Dilemma for someone that dislikes going to the temple I guess, but I know it brings a lot of peace to others.

Who needs the internet? Not sure I agree with those two. God seems to have cares and worries, mainly about us. I would say he has cares. But worries? Worries imply uncertainty and God knows the end from the beginning. I do not think he worries but He can mourn at what is happening. 1

If you are exalted questions like this are unnecessary. If you want wings you can have them. If you want more dimensions why not create them. If you want a dragon make one. Maybe overcoming my fear of death (beyond the animal fear I am sure I would experience if dying or being killed) is not such a good thing. No jobs though. I worry about that kid. It seems he thought the threat of starvation and homelessness was the only reason we are all not idle. I will also no longer need approvals from half the company before I publish anything as there will be no error. I think work and play will be united. Most of mine are manuals, press releases, and training material though so I don't expect a lot of waves. No one sits down with a manual and compares it to Shakespeare. They are usually angry about the one thing they need to know that is not in there and it is probably not in there because the engineers did not tell me in time.

To top that off, I'm working through a major genre epiphany shift. There has always been a bit of my belief system in my stories. Now there seems to be less religon in my stories and less rebel rouser too. No more edgy diversity subject matter and now I wonder if what I write will be worth reading?
