A Fun Survey (For A Second Time!)

TAO

Recommended Posts

Hello, it's TAO, and I just got permission from Nemesis to do another fun little survey, similar to the one I did a while back. Basically, it's a survey of your place on the political spectrum. If you feel like it, take some time to fill it out, and then post a picture of your graph here.

There is one rule though, that I ask you adhere to, so the thread isn't shut down. That rule is this:

Don't argue about politics here. Just don't.

So, please don't break that rule, yeah.

Instructions:

1) Fill out the quiz. You'll get your results.

2) Click, and Drag your mouse over the picture. It should become highlighted.

3) Right Click and Press Copy (or Copy Here, or something like that).

4) Go to your post in this forum, right click, and press Paste (or Paste Here). It'll just copy right in to your post. No need for Photobucket, Flickr, or anything else.

5) Enjoy looking at other people's statistics.

After a lot of people have filled out the quiz, I'll create a combined graph, and we can look to see how the forum is layed out. Cool! This is one the forum spectrum looked like last September: http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/ss201/TheAwsomeOpossum/Chart.png

In any case, here's a link to the survey (it's a different one compared to last time): http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

And here's the previous thread, in case you have bouts of nostalgia and what to see what it was like last time: http://www.mormondia...entry1209041154

Thanks a ton you guys, and I hope you have fun taking the quiz!

Best of Wishes,

-TAO

Hi TAO.

I have always enjoyed these kinds of quiz. I am still trying to figure out how to post the image. A note appeared on the screen affirming that this community does not allow that image extension.

Your political compass

Economic Left/Right: 4.62

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.92

TAO:

Sorry no.

It's okay. I might end up switching the surveys... if this one isn't working, I might go back to the old one. The problem is the old one had a weird ad pop up which prevented selection of the options... but if this isn't working... =/.

I came out as a moderately conservative liberal. :)

Whatever TSS came out... I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I'm a conservative, with some moderate depending on circumstances.

According to the survey, I'm slightly left wing and slightly libertarian. I can see the libertarian part, but slightly left wing? I'm a Regan conservative.

Perhaps you are like me, idealistically a liberal, pragmatically a conservative/libertarian (because I just don't see government make a program work in a cost beneficial way in very many cases at all).

I don't give it much credence as it had Obama as a conservative,

Hate to break it to you but Obama is a moderate. Don't tell talk radio. It will break their poor little hearts.

In other news it seems God has punished me for my leftist leanings by killing my firsborn. My computer. Sigh...............Looks like repairs are worth more then it is. Time to start from scratch again.

All political analysts should spend at least a year touring other countries and learning of their political systems at closehand so they know just how 'radical' our political parties actually are (hint: they aren't, in many countries the Dems and Reps are seen as pretty much the same thing).

Please reread, this time for comprehension. My word was conservative. I said nothing about moderate.

My results put me in the Southwest quadrant (the green one), near the Dalai Lama, which pleases me a great deal, as I am a big admirer of his. :) In other words, Left- and Libertarian-leaning.

Economic Left/Right: -1.25

Actually this surprised me that I was left of center when I feel that I am right of center. Either way, it was still close to the center!:D

I scored approximately the same as Milton Friedman, so I am happy.

Economic Left/Right: 8.12

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.36

Yes, that part made me wonder, too.

Except that postioning of these leaders was based on their public pronouncements, and may be inaccurate (most certainly are inaccurate). If Romney and Obama actually took the survey without worrying about the public seeing the results, I suspect that the outcome would be different.

Please apply basic reasoning when you read my replies. I was saying that Obama is a moderate so appearing to be mildly conservative on this test is no proof that the test is flawed.

The problem was it had him placed in the upper right hand side of the upper right quadrant. That is not moderate country that is conservative country. And liberal media propaganda to the contrary Obama is not a moderate, nor is he conservative.

Actually the liberals are disappointed about him being a moderate and have no desire to make him appear conservative. They wish he was more to the political left. It is also important not to judge this survey by focusing all our attention solely on the United States. By the standards of most of the First World both political parties in our nation are conservative though of course one is more conservative. They actually have genuine socialist parties there whereas here the word is mostly just a bogeyman label thrown around as a scare word. No political party here is actively advocating just giving production capital to the workers. Over there they are. On this test I scored mildly liberal but in Europe my views would definitely be judged coservative and by American standards I am a moderate. Perhaps the test was constructed on a more international view.
