That linereally struck me. It made me laugh a little at first, but really made me sit back and think now.

Great first session overall I think. I loved Elder Hallstrom and President Eyring's talks, even enjoyed President Packer's, which I don't always.

Ha ha! Yeah, totally hits home. Humbling, it is.

I venture to say this has been one of the best General Conference sessions I have ever heard! I was disappointed that it was over when it was. Ashamed to admit, that is not always the case for me. I really, really enjoyed every single talk given this morning. I feel energized!

I was privileged to hear from Elder Eyring when he was in the 70 and was invited to address a group of graduate students and professors in my department at BYU.

He preached repentance and hope- focusing on the gifts of the Holy Ghost to organize the Saints. Shortly after he was called to be an Apostle. I was not surprised. He really touched me today.

Kudos to the choir who are particularly on target this conference. HiJolly and his friends are making me cry and smile at the same time.

Loved Elder Holland's talk, and Elder Baxter's especially, having come from a single-parent household. And I loved the concluding talk by Elder Scott on personal revelation, he really wants us to comprehend that message. It was wonderful.

Elders Eyring and Holland... wonderful as usual. I can hardly wait for Elder Uchtdorf...

I must say though, I do find all of the talks to be filled with uplifting moments, but can't help having my favorites among the brethren.

For my brothers out there... a few years ago I had the opportunity to attend Gen Conf in person, while staying with my girlfriend in Kaysville. Saturday night we went out to dinner about the time that the Priesthood Session was letting out... I had never witnessed that many men in their shirts and ties at any one time. It made me feel good... safe somehow... like I was in a special place. Everywhere we went there were crowds of brothers. Loved it.

from the beach on finally a day without rain during this Spring Break. I felt sorry for all the many people who came down to the beach for the week, only to be rained on day after day. But many come prepared with plenty of board games, etc. and have fun watching our spectacular waves during the storms, ordering in pizzas... or venturing out if feeling brave...

But, is it possible to willfully be less active in the Church and active in the gospel? I'm going to have to say no. I'm assuming willfully does not include the elderly or the shut in or many who have to work on Sunday.

I have to share the most unbelievable experience I have just had! So I am a single mother, as many here know, but also the only adult member of the church in my entire family. So I was moved beyond words by Elder Baxter's talk. As another friend in church has said as well, "I have been praying a long time for this talk." Yes, Deborah, I too cried my eyes out! That meant everything to me! But back to my story, I have struggled with exceptionally high levels of that loneliness he spoke of not just from being a single parent but from being a single member in my family. My parents have nothing to do with the church. They never talk to me about it and they told me once that my decision is my decision but I better never try to convert them. They "believe in God" but attend no church, anywhere nor do they behave according to any Christian standard that I am aware of. I have really had to be strong and it is a constant struggle to make choices that are not understood by loved ones. Elder Baxter's opening remarks commending (me) single parents for not entering into relationships that are less than virtuous to meet both my needs and the needs of my family ~ were powerful.

My mom just called out of the blue 2 minutes after the last session ended and asked me if my Conference thing was over? I said yeah! just finished it. When she started to talk I realized she was crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said she recorded our Conference and was watching ~unbeknownst to me. She heard Elder Baxter's talk and was touched by the Spirit. She asked if I liked that talk and I explained that I balled like a baby and posted it Facebook. She told me to post also that my non-member mom has been touched. She went on to tell me for the first time ever that I was blessed. That God was really with me. That I was right to join the church and that I was raising my children properly. She mentioned that she knew she has not said this before and was sorry for that but wants me to know now that she knows how hard this is for me and is proud of me. Proud of me for raising my children in righteousness. What an incredible day! Step 2 - drag Grandma to church.

In the single parent case, there is at least one parent who is a true male or female role model; keeping themselves virtuous and chaste.
