If i think back all those years ago i know that back then it whas completely differend here. But oooh boy... what have people changed here. And not in a positive way. It used to be a nice neighborhood here where people where friendly and be aware with each other. Nowadays people are sooo rude here. Especially the younger generation. Loud. My neighbors above me are extremaly loud the whole day. Every day. In the night time people are making a lot of noise. I just can't sleep. It has became such a problem that i have developed a sleeping disorder by now. Constantly loud talking, screaming, laughing on the street in the middle of the night. If i open my window and ask those people or they please wanna leave or go inside the buildiding to continuing their (loud) conversation they laugh at me. And after that they stay longer outside. And talk louder. I try to sleep. And then you have also those people who go out of their apartment on 3 a clock in the nightime. Loud talking. Mostely going straight up walking to the car. Doors go open. And with 3 or 4 loud bangs the doors closse. Then the noise of a starting car. With offcourse a few honks. And if that would not allready wake me up then it will be most definitly that horible sound of loud music from the radio and somebody that is having their food too deep on the gaspedal and after that the sound of a car that speeds away from the street. (Btw while i am typing this post i allready hear somebody talking really loud on the street. It is now 22:07. That will promisse something good for the rest of the night.🎭). Where whas i?... oh yeah... as if that wouldn't wake me up yet it would be the sound of a speeding car. After that i am awake and try to fall asleep again. Wich isn't easy because a few minutes later i hear the next group of people walking to their car with the same kind of noises. Lovely when you have that commotion in the middle of the night while you are trying to get some sleep isn't?? And this is now going on nearly every night. That is how people have changed here. Or it really is because of the corona or something else i don't know. But things have changed here for sure. And it isn't positive. Any of it. Funny right????🎭🎭🎭 How differend that can be on other parts of the world. But i am really happy for you @california boy that at least in your neighborhood everything is going well and people have became really nice, that you know everyone and it is all positive lovely. 💗 Btw, right now on this moment my neigbors above me are having a tv party (tv set on really loud). Like always. Maybe they think that they are the only ones that life in this building.?🤷♂️ Sounds like a lot of social connecting being out-doors, laughing, and having fun together. Bah humbug! It does sound like they are being pretty rude and belligerent about it though. Sounds like you need to invest in a good set of ear-plugs. According to this survey, you moved from the 5th happiest nation in the world (Netherlands) to the 57th on the list (Portugal). Argh! https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/happiest-countries-in-the-world

Would you like it if i scream and laugh really loud close to your house every night so that it would effect your sleep? Edited January 18, 2023 by Dario_M

No, the noise is the problem and ear-plugs are a potential practical solution that doesn't require killing your neighbors I use the wax ear-plugs when I am in a noisy environment and it really helps. The foam ones hurt my ears with the pressure and are just uncomfortable. 16 minutes ago, Dario_M said: I don't mind that people are having fun. But making so much noise on 3 a clock in the night. The only thing I can use for noise blocking are the wax ones and head phones. I use a headband to keep the wax ones in my ear…for a time at least. I need to get a good noise canceling head set that also helps with tinnitus. Should put that on my list for recommendations for next time I hit the ear doc’s. We were once in an apartment where you could hear the bed upstairs squeaking, the husband was a big guy. He was probably a good sleeper because the only time it got noisy was when they were trying to make babies (they really wanted one). We got them back (not intentionally, they were sweethearts) by having my toddler son’s jumping harness hooked into the ceiling because there were no door ledges around (plus the way he moved in that thing I was worried it would pop off, he treated it like a trampoline and swing in one). They would probably hear him going chunk, chunk, chunk for an hour at a time a couple of times a day, but they never complained, even when I gave them quite a few opportunities to do so and promised we would only use it when they were gone if it bothered them. I don’t have a clue how he managed to get the jumper stretched out so far because he was a lightweight. Thank goodness too as he would never sit in my lap but only want to jump from practically the day he popped out. Back to sleeping…. I have had a fan going all night since my twenties when I found I slept much better when I wasn’t hearing the creaking of the house or the barking dog, the kids moving around in their beds. Once my tinnitus got bad I added a thunderstorm white noise program to my mix and that works almost all the time. Between that and blackout curtains, my bedroom is ready for me to sleep anytime of the day or night. Edited January 18, 2023 by Calm

All that late night noise can not only be aggravating, but, like you are experiencing, depriving you of sleep. Believe it or not, San Francisco goes to bed early. Most of the city shuts down at 10. Why can't they do that also here in stupid Portugal. And in the Netherlands i also had this issue a lot. If i can't sleep i don't feel like a human the next day. I just feel... death. 💀 Thumbs up for California big time. 👍 Edited January 19, 2023 by Dario_M 1

For sleep you have to sleep on your back like most earbuds but that’s better for your face anyway! 🙉
