They would tell us that while it's not official church policy, they strongly felt that we were born at this time because it would be our generation who would see Christ return."

People have been saying Christ will return since he died.  That might have contributed to a sense of specialness and urgency, but the new age nuttiness is of a different strain imo.

The nuttiness she is talking about is multiple mortal probations which has no inherent ties to end times beliefs.   Then there is the stuff that sounds like it is from roleplaying games, something that got big in my teens.

More likely the age of those so afflicted has to do with American culture as we (I am 61) were growing up (and I would like to see some evidence that the problem is definitely tied to our age group besides anecdotes).  I remember a number of celebrities and others taking about being reincarnated. Also eastern religions were a big fad in California at least in the 60s and 70s.  The Stanford mall bookstore I worked at in 78 maybe had a massive New Age collection.

Another reason for the age could be it is tied to midlife crisis, feeling like one hasn’t really accomplished much in one’s life and looking for something to up the excitement level. None of these people that have become known for this were that successful in other endeavors or were involved in truly memorable projects (outside of missionary work) and what they did was pretty ordinary.

I've never heard a person claim to have been just an ordinary person in a former life. It' s always Cleopatra or Moroni's wife or Dali Lama.

That’s because you only know ordinary people. For instance, if you knew more prominent people such as, say, Moroni, he would have been claiming that he would be Chad Daybell in another life.

I am imagining this and just laughing. Perfect.

All set to stream bond hearing Fri. for Lori Daybell. Starts @ 2 p.m. MST. You can watch it live on http://EastIdahoNews.com. Public not allowed in due to COVID-19 & we will be wearing masks. This is an in-person hearing so Lori will attend instead of appearing via video from jail

From East Idaho News FB.

BTW, Chad’s lawyer quit or was fired (I heard he wa Ted to quit long ago due to death threats to his family, they had to move, he hadn’t signed up for the nuttiness as far as I can tell as he was first handling Melani’s divorce and then was recommended to Vallow for something iirc.

They are now both represented by Mark Means, someone who appears to have little background in criminal law

A list Daybell made back in Oct 2018...it was typed up by a poster at websleuths, there is some stuff I am not posting as not that interesting so check out there for more info:

Lori Vallow's new husband believes he could judge 'light and dark spirits'

Here is the document - I retyped it so it's easier to see...

Most LDS members are level 2.

Most bishops and ward leaders are level 3.

Most stake presidents and General Authorities are level 4.

Most apostles are level 5. A few are level 6.

The dark side can only match the light numbers, not exceed them.

This is why there are a few 5’s on earth right now. It limits the dark’s power.

2’s and 3’s are fluid and can change sides during earth life.

4.1 and above have made covenants to their side. They rarely switch sides.

[he assigns to family their ratings, the first two are Lori's parents, third her sister who died due to diabetes complications, Summer is another sibling of Lori, I am not sure who Laura is...am guessing another sister who died; the second husband is Colby's father]

Barry Cox - 3L (1500s France)

Janice Cox - 3L (1600s England)

Stacey – Was 3L on earth, has graduated to 4.1L

Alex Cox – 2L

Adam Cox – 3L

Laura – Was 3L on earth, has graduated to 4.1L

Lori – 4.3L

Summer Cox Shiflet – 3L Husband is 2L, but borderline 2D

First husband – 2L

Second husband: William Lagioia – 2D

Son: Colby Ryan – 3L Kelsee Ryan – 3D

Third husband: Joseph Ryan - 4.3D Is now sealed away

Daughter: Tylee Ryan - 4.1D

Fourth husband: Charles Vallow – 3L (1700s London)

First wife: 2D

Cole Vallow – 3D

Zach Vallow – 3L

Joshua Vallow – 4.2L

Neice: Melani Boudreaux – 3L

Husband: Brandon – 3D

4kids – Both boys are 3L, Older girl - 3L, Younger girl - 4.1L

Got to wonder how he chose someone for the dark.  I wonder if he was trying to put distance between Tylee and Lori so that she wouldn't interfere with their relationship.  Makes me think he may have been more active in her disappearance rather than just getting involved after they were gone.

That he rates Alex at a 2L is patronizing and likely again to put distance between Lori and Alex who seems to be tied at the hip at times with Lori, Alex was just a common 2.  Even Brandon had more power or whatever at 3 even if dark.  I bet Chad didn't like Alex or sees him as competition for Vallow's attentions.  Alex is the only 2 in Lori's family, Chad is labeling him low rooster on the chicken pecking order.

I want to see what Chad rates himself.

That Daybell labels this "family history" (just ugh)....I wonder how many people he suckered into wanting such lists and if they paid him for them. Reminds me of astrology charts.

People over 4 have made covenants to their side and rarely change.  Tylee is 4.1 and dark. All other minors are light.  Only one son of Charles is dark, adult I believe maybe oldest who suspects something or shared info at one time that got Lori in trouble during the custody battle...as in she just leaves the kids she is supposed to be supervising and runs off to donwhat she wants whenever.

Tylee is therefore evil as in Covenanted her life to it? (I am assuming dark means evil since all the good people are light) and won't change, so it is like he is telling Lori there is no hope for her, she has chosen, you might as well dump her rather than cart her around every where you are going....I think Tylee may not have liked the relationship between Daybell and Vallow and this was Chad's way of fighting back any attempts she might make to interfere.  He may not have been thinking murder, but just manipulating Lori to leave Tylee home instead of taking her on her jaunts to camps and Hawaii, etc.  Made it too hard to met up and commit adultery in the lovely afternoon!

Charles is light still and a level up from Alex.  Bet they were hoping to persuade him to join them as I believe he joined the Church when he married Lori.  Wouldn't need murder to get his money and they could make him happy with a new spouse of his own!

The "sealed away" on Joseph Ryan, Tylee's dad.  I have seen several come up with the same idea that he has been sealed away (in hell?) to prevent reincarnation or rather Chad’s version of using another’s body...what happens to the original owner?  That is so creepier than reincarnation which is imo a sensible idea in some ways.
The sealed away is a rather evil idea if they are using any LDS ideas at all...makes me think not much...as in an LDS context it suggests they have destroyed his agency, stopped the eternal cycle of his growth.  But it may mean something very different and not so self serving.

His levels remind me somewhat of this new age stuff pretending to be science, just divide by 100...and apparently Dark has its own equally powerful scale.

It is so disturbing to see he rated Tylee a 4.1D. I suspect some were rated D because they disagreed with Lori and Chad's beliefs.

So this is Chad's idea of 'Family History'?  From this email, Chad had labeled Tylee as a 4.1D  way back in Oct. 2018, possibly supporting  that cynicism about her daughter, in Lori.  Tylee's supposedly even more 'dark' than Brandon Beaudreaux who's wife accused him of all kinds of terrible things in their divorce papers.  I also noticed that she's listed as 'daughter' to Joseph Ryan, who seems to have received the worst score from Chad.  No acknowledgment in the email that she was also Lori's daughter.  What we got from other information about the 'dark' designation has to do with people becoming 'zombies' and having their bodies taken over by evil entities.  Chad believed that the real spirit of the person was in 'limbo' and could not return to their body or be released from limbo, unless  the body died.  Less than a year later, Tylee is missing.  I don't think that is a coincidence and it makes me more suspicious of Chad's influence on Lori as to what became of her children.

I wonder if their 'sealed away' designation is sort of like the LDS belief in Sons of Perdition.

That occurred to me as well.  And then I also thought of Solomon's Seal on genii, but not sure if Chad is that educated in mythology as his stuff sounds more like role playing games or Saturday morning cartoons.

Apparently, Chad believed that he could tell 'light' and 'dark' spirits.  The reporter interviewed Julie Rowe, who had some things to say about this.  I wonder if it has to do with Energy healing, since we found out Chad was involved in that, as is Julie Rowe.

 Julie Rowe said this:

Quote

The thing is when you have some of these gifts, it gets real tricky because you’re not living in one dimension, you’re living in multiple dimensions, and Chad's had two near-death experiences, so his veil is kind of open, but not completely," said author Julie Rowe, who is Chad's former friend.

Rowe says Chad, a doomsday author himself, never brought up this 'system' when he published her books, but by 2018, she says he changed and claimed he could see the light and dark in people. Chad's ideas eventually reached Lori.

Another attachment lists Lori's family tree, which includes her parents, siblings, past husbands, and her kids.

In the attachment, Tylee was labeled as a 4.1 dark spirit, while Tylee's father, Joseph Ryan, was listed as dark and "sealed away."

Joseph Ryan died in 2018.

JJ, who is Lori's adoptive son, was listed as a light spirit, level 4.2.

Lori herself, meanwhile, was classified as being on the light side.

Chad's former friend says he's off base.

"You cannot just go and test and say, 'OK, this person is a 4.1 dark," said Rowe.

The twisted timeline evolves three months after Lori receives these documents. In February 2019, Charles, then Lori's husband, files for divorce, accusing Lori of threatening his life and calling herself a "translated being." Charles was shot and killed by Lori’s brother, Alex Cox. Cox told Chandler Police it was self-defense.

Quote

Rowe admits to defending Chad’s name in the past, but now she says his teachings are of false doctrine.

"If that isn’t a cult leader, I don’t know what it is," said Rowe. "That’s where I am now, because he was going around, saying things in people’s homes, going to people now. Whether they joined a cult or realized that’s what he was trying to do or not, he won’t call it a cult. I think he thinks he’s starting a church."

The Idaho Attorney General is investigating Chad, as well as Lori, for the death of Tammy.

Today I watched the trial to reduce her bail, which has been denied. At one moment when Lori stood up she looked pregnant, and I thought, oh no, it can't be!! But when I looked again a little closer it looked like she's wearing a bullet proof vest. Has anyone watched the trial today. They had to have a recess because the judge couldn't breathe very well with the mask, she may have nearly fainted or something from what I read. What if Lori is pregnant??? https://www.fox13now.com/news/local-news/mother-of-missing-idaho-kids-to-appear-in-court-friday-for-bail-hearing

Yes, a number of people have mentioned at the other hearing and when they were transporting her that they thought she was pregnant, but at times you can see the best underneath.  I think Idaho is being very careful with her health for a variety of reasons.  She is possibly the only person who knows what happened to the kids and if she dies, that goes with her....though after seeing Daybell's list last night I am more inclined to believe he was part of their disappearance.  Plus I can see Daybell or other family members easily suing the state if she dies in their custody.

It may even be typical of Idaho hearings as there is not much distance between the defendant and the public in the room and not that far to the street when they were transporting her.

I think she would be showing more by now if she was pregnant at her age having had two kids.  The face usually rounds out pretty quickly as well as the bust.  At least on TV.  Haven't had as much chance to play the "is she pregnant" guessing game in real life as I do watching shows.

I missed it, completely spaced today.  Sheesh, brain is full of holes.

What is it about her feet that the camera person always has to take a shot of?  Does that job require a footwear fetish? ;)

the audio was horrible, had to turn it off.  Looking for another version in hope it isn't all like that.

The clip I saw said she was wearing a bulletproof vest. Also, watching Dateline and I think I understand now why Daybell rated Joseph Ryan so dark.

Haven’t been able to watch it yet, but read what he said. How old was he when they got divorced?  Am wondering why cameras were placed in Vallow’s home if the primary custody issue was Ryan (cameras according to report by Charles' exwife who was iirc told this by her sons, but maybe she saw it when she dropped them off).  Am wondering if Vallow was able to convince Colby of something that didn’t happen.

Whether it did or didn’t, that young man has so much to deal with.

Added:  he was born in 95 and they were married in 2001 and divorced in 2004, so old enough especially if happened later to easily remember imo.

Vallow's obsession to keep Tylee away from Ryan could be explained by Colby's accusation.  It is only her later behaviour including her apparent attempts to manipulate Tylee in reporting Charles as aggressive to police that makes me wonder if she manipulated Colby earlier.

I am watching the hearing now, the judge is being very careful in how she is saying stuff, but I don't think she is impressed with Means.  Nate Eaton reports that Vallow says "that was a waste of money" at the end of it.

That thought crossed my mind as well but Colby seemed to indicate that he had to tell his mom about it.

Did he say when he told her?  If during custody hearings, I would assume Vallow would have used that as they got vicious and she was reported to have said death was a better option to turning Tylee over. And Ryan won the court case against her, which is why they took off for Hawaii.  She might have been protecting Colby from having to testify, I guess.  The custody case went on until 2014 iirc and he would have been almost 20 by then, so seems a stretch to me if he told her when he was younger. I think he would have been willing to protect his sister who he appears to love very much.

Not saying he is lying, but memory can be manipulated.

From what I remember, Colby told his mom and then she filed for divorce. I’m going to go review. Brb

OK so reviewing the show: They got married when Colby was four and divorced when he was eight. He said he tried for a long time not to tell his mom and when he did she was devastated. It wasn’t made clear but kind of implied that he told her before the divorce.
