Regardless, I don't think she's alone...but, again, I'm derailing. Yeah...so am I, don't think I care today...someone should report me. I might get something done. If she thought she was divorced and then was reconciled, we are talking about this occurring over a two or three week time period. I don't think there is much difference between polyandry and the state of thought where one can say "hey, my husband walked out on me so I will be intimate with the man I am sealed to" and one week later thinking " oh, wait, my husband was just mad and didn't walk out so now I will be intimate with him". How in the world would a woman who saw the marriage state as necessary for sexual intimacy feel comfortable with that unless she saw the sealing relationship as valid as her marriage? The arrogance here is astounding. Well, you could start by following the Best Practices guidelines of professional organizations that do extensive research into the causes of suicide and effective suicide prevention efforts. Those guidelines state that there is never a specific "reason" for suicide and that trying to attribute a cause to any individual suicide actually contributes to suicide. Or you could keep insisting on blaming the Church and in so doing actually contribute to suicide. I guess we each make our own decisions. Edited January 28, 2018 by kllindley 1

Unfortunately, polygamy isn't a derail on this topic because it has to be ironed out before there can be any meaningful conclusion on SSM. Hales needed Josephine to be away from Mr. Lyons. Finding out that Josephine was Mr. Lyons daughter, meaning Sylvia was indeed still a wife to her husband while seeing Joseph, must have thrown him for a loop. Because Joseph was in the same timeline, he needed Joseph to be the father and Mr. Lyons to be out of the picture to maintain a denial of polyandry. We must go through this at least once a month so we probably need a bookmarked thread to prevent the constant derails where everyone says the same things over and over and over because a few want to pretend they have never seen the answers. 6

I get that you like to twist everything I say. Or your reading comprehension is pathetic, but I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. I was very clear that accepting any specific reason is an error and contributes to the problem.

I don't think you are that naïve to think that it is just the rich moguls that are going to pay the price of the #ME TOO movement. All it takes is a single woman to utter - "That man behaved badly toward me" and that man has just lost his job and any reputation that he once thought he had. Puhleez, this is the most obnoxious movement I have seen in a long time. It will be interesting when women are judged by the exact same standard they have chosen to judge men.

Calm Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/30/us/sexual-harassment-weinstein-women.html "Of course, not every allegation is true. The credibility of those who report sexual misconduct, experts say, should be evaluated by looking for corroborating evidence or using relevant parts of accusers’ backgrounds, like whether they have habitually misrepresented the truth in the past. But experts say that because many people are not psychologically prepared to accept how prevalent harassment and assault are, they tend to look for reasons to disbelieve. For example, offenders are more likely to choose victims who have been previously assaulted, statistics show, but a woman who reports more than one assault is less likely to be believed...." "Offenders encourage confusion and shame and exploit people’s reluctance to identify themselves as victims. Ms. Valliere said the offenders she treats list two main tactics they use to obscure assaults: They camouflage the act as horseplay or humor, or they act as though nothing happened. “If they do this enough, the victim can get really confused, like they’re really the bad one for thinking badly about the offender,” she said."
