Thelema And Mormonism.

I think that you need to stop listening to picketers outside the temple grounds. Maybe they are of the devil. In John 10:34 it mentions it. Of course all faiths have their own interpretation of that verse. You just need to decide what faith you support. If you think that the EV got it right (of course they are many EV faiths out there) then you have to go with them. You are being torn in too many directions at this moment. But you seem to side with the EVs on most occasions, especially when they interpret Mormonism. I look at all Protestantism as a protest against Catholicism. So, I can't support any form of Protestantism regardless how sweet their words are.If you think that the church of jesus Christ of latter day saints may be of the devil then you don't know this church very well. The church of satan is much different.It all comes down to the book of Mormon. If that book is true, if that book is what joseph smith claimed it to be, then all the rest should fall into place. If 12 people lied about it when they saw the plates and testified of them and when certain people had heavenly visitations and never denied their testimony and experiences even on their death beds in front of children and spouses, and one went to their death knowingly taking his brother with him for the cause, well what more can be said?

I think so too. I think that some people just may want to see the cookie monster in places where he does't exist.

I'd like to get some more discussion on this, especially with Bill Hamblin, since he said that the Priest in the Gnostic Mass video I posted (James Wasserman) is a friend of his.

 

 

Also, I recently did my II° initiation in O.T.O., and while I'm under oath not to discuss specifics, I can say first-hand that at least that far is not incompatible with Mormonism and no commandments were violated in the making of this II° initiate.

Also, I'm curious, will OTO allow people from other esoteric traditions like Rosicrucians, Martinists, or Scottish Rite Masonry? The reason I ask is some friends of mine as well as myself have noticed some similarities in things such as degree names, and we wonder if they may consider our stuff "clandestine." I understand the application process is similar though with finding someone to vouch, taking oaths, etc.

Absolutely, and a lot of OTO members at all levels like to "double-dip" in other esoteric traditions. Being just OTO is actually kind of weird. As long as other groups aren't trying to appropriate the OTO's secret rituals and/or claim to be the OTO, then it's all good.

That's good to know, thanks. It sounds like OTO is a good gathering place for esoteric-minded individuals and is what I was hoping masonry was more like when I joined. I must admit I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of seriousness shown in the various rites of masonry when I joined, which led me to seek further light in the Rosicrucian and Martinists organizations, and they've helped me better appreciate the connection between the Kabbalah and our Temple Endowment.

If you’re really interested in the Book of Mormon and its connection to Masonry and the Rosicrucians perhaps you might look at this college research paper in which explores the Book of Mormon as a ciphered text.  It’s full of colored graphs and to pictures better help the reader discern the ciphers and their meanings.
