Essential Classics Of Mormon Literature

Recommended Posts

The poll on Orson Pratt's "The Seer" has me curious about some of the other most famous, enduring and beloved classics of Mormonism.

(For example, here's a similar article containing 50 titles (from Sunstone Magazine) that they would include as "Important". https://www.sunstonemagazine.com/pdf/079-54-58.pdf. )

I picked through it took a few off, added a few I would consider more significant to studying Mormonism in depth, and came up with my own list of books of significance for students of Mormonism.

This list should NOT be considered comprehensive but a starting list of absolute classics that everyone should at least be familiar with and have been around for a while.

So?  How many are we familiar with or have read/own?  Which ones should absolutely be added to such a list?  Which ones have no business being on such a list?

Just looking for opinion here...

Have most of them but not all, have others you do not list.

Any you would recommend as true essential classics?

Anything by Arrington and Widtsoe, can't remember others without looking at them right now.
