omni Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 What are some changes you would like to see? I would love for general conference to be monthly rather than semi annually. Just have it be a two hour session each fourth Sunday. If we have a living prophet, why wouldn't we want to hear from him more often...and I love going to church in my pajamas.
halconero Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 When you transferred to a singles' ward you entered your name in a ballot, every other week your name, along with the name of someone from the opposite sex, are picked out of a hat. You must then go on a date.It enforces dating and helps prevents it from being restricted to the 5-10 girls that usually get asked out in the ward! 4

Ahab Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Got another one:Buses going around to pick everybody up and take them to chapel services, and bring them back after.We had that in the other church I was a member of, before I joined the true Church.We could also sing songs like kumbaya, and popcorn in apricot trees, like we did in my old church.

There is a woman in my ward who is more then capable of doing it and I keep losing my pipe to walk around with at church activities (if I walk around with it maybe they'll be like um well,snappy dresser and all but it's time for a release...) Give temperature control back to the building users rather than having some technician decide how warm or cold we want to be on Sunday. Oh, and move gospel doctrine to the front hall because apparently that is where all the cool people are anyway. 1

At least I could cover my face with a kerchef.

(I was going to say something about married gay people having full standing in the church... But I'm guessing that's beyong 'non-major') 1

Perhaps we could purchase or convert some of our farms to accomplish this. And update all signage so we no longer see the old school 1970's, 80's style Church logo.

Then this older fella came over and got in her grill about it and we as a family have a rule, you shouldn't give it without being able to take it so she got in his grill too. They set up a dance on this basis in one of my singles wards eons ago. Some guys just didn't bother to show up which left the girls waiting around thinking they were going to get picked up while everyone else left to go and in some cases once they realized they had been stood up no way to get there.

If Joseph Smith is to be believed, he said that "The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it." So there is room for different interpretations on the things you mentioned. I had a science professor at Ricks/BYU-Idaho (of all places) who openly shared his belief in evolution. And he was a member in good standing with a temple recommend.
