Religious Knowledge Survey And Results

I put the start of the Jewish Sabbath on Saturday. Other than that I did fine.

Strangely my results were consistent (albeit higher on the curve) with Mormons. Really good on Christianity and OK on world religions.

The breakdown on these polls is great. I'm stunned that only 93% of Mormon respondents identified Joseph Smith as the founder of our faith!? Perhaps we aren't emphasizing Joseph enough in our meetings :diablo: ?

I did that too, although my first thought was Friday.

Considering that, I'm going to give myself 100%. I felt sure it was true before I chose the wrong answer. :<)

Completely guessed on the last one and got it wrong. Got every other question right, though.

Although I struggled a bit with #9. :P

Now everybody knows yom shishi is the correct answer.

Oops... I just busted the curve.

The last one was a complete guess and I got it wrong as well. The other ones seemed easy especially the Jewish Sabbath. In going the Museum of Tolerance, I found it interesting that it was closed on Saturdays but open on Sundays and wondered why it closed early on Fridays depending on what season it was. It made sense that it all was done in observance of the Jewish Sabbath. :)

I noticed that, too. The only explanation that makes any sense to me whatsoever that has occurred to me in the past 3 minutes after taking the test is that the remaining 7% of those interviewed weren't actually Mormon.

Also, I got 100%.

Darn. I blew it. Got 87%. Perfect until the last 2 questions.

Missed the last question, maybe 7 % of Mormons don't consider Joseph the founder of their religion, but Christ.

Possibly overthinking the question... but I favor the "not really Mormons" or "Hit the wrong button" theories.

It tells you something about the margin of error on most surveys.

I got 15 of 15, though I do have a problem with question 12. Can anybody spot the mistake with the question or the answer, because the answer they gave as the right one is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Jewish Sabbath is Friday at sundown to Saturday at sundown. So it does vary with time of year in the more northern latitudes(Tropic of Cancer) and more southern latitudes(tropic of Capricorn).

Muslim in not a religion, a Muslim is an adherent to Islam. Islam in the religion.

The question was about adherents.

I scored in the 99th percentile.

Take it and report how you did... (don't read the discussion until you take the survey. There are spoilers in there)

Too late...I've been reading all the posts. Does this mean I can't take the test? Darn..
