Libs = liberal

I used to post a lot on political boards, and started using that moniker about twelve or thirteen years ago. I just use it, now, out of long time habit (and I am still a liberal).

In Canada I am a right wing radical. In the United States I would be a communist.

Mine comes from my kids when they were younger. My daughter had just read Beowulf and liked the name Grendel (I think that was it). She and the other kids finally came up with Grundelwalken so I stuck with it. Thanks kids. MW

On another board they have a thread about your name. Their thinking, seemed the Mods here wouldn't allow it for much longer. It did make me wonder, when you posted. 'Things that make you go ummm' :nea:

After living in the same neighborhood for several years, a pediatric emergency physician moved in next door to us. Instead of me taking care of everyone's maladies and mishaps, we were able to split things up!

I wear 2 hats at church--bishop and doctor. Some days it seems that the problems are equally divided.

In addition to the not breathing quip, I have several others. Some are appropriate to put on this board:

There is no body cavity that cannot be reached with a 14 ga needle and a good, strong arm.

Treat the first complaint, listen to the second complaint, ignore everything else (it's an Emergency Department, after all).

If you're sick enough to come to the ER for a sore throat, you're sick enough to get Bicillin (a BIG penicillin shot).

Survivability of major trauma is inversely proportional to societal worth.

Severity of illness is inversely proportional to the number of complaints.

I got a million of them...

I have a BIL who is an obgyn. He has a very interesting collection of sayings as well.....yours are more suited for the message board.

Maybe I am totally naive, but why in the world would anyone have a problem with it?

That's certainly better than 'GrundelNOTwalken' ... or 'GrundelCAN'Twalk'.

I like the definition for Tacenda because this has been what my head has been telling me since my faith crisis. Hiding my thoughts etc. But my heart is screaming let it out, let it out....thank goodness for boards like NOM, Staylds.com & now my new fav MD&D. I won't go near FLAK or Ex Mormon, they are so negative and don't help my bismal testimony and I can't hack the language, and I'm not a goody two shoes, just old school and hate the f- word I guess.

I've loved maps since I was about six when my dad explained to me how to use a map my parents were looking at to plan a trip. I started to read the Chronicles of Narnia and the Hobbit a few years later and loved to examine the maps about as much as I loved to read the books. I was introduced to Book of Mormon geography on the internet when I was a teenager and became kind of passionate about it, which was when I signed up on this board. I still love maps, but ever since I started college I've become more interested in history and philosophy.

Cool!

I've tried to be a science fiction writer (key word: "try") and when I was still attempting this impossible task (for an ADD person), I always started planning for each story (which took place of course on other planets) by drawing detailed maps of where the story was going to take place.

I also doted on maps as a kid, and still love to study them.
