Major Board Update Coming

Everyone,

This site will be upgrading to Invision boards latest build.  Not sure what it will do to some features but expect things to have bugs in them.  Just let me know and Ill try to fix them as soon as possible.  I'm also going to look into updating the reCAPTCHA scripts on the site.  Hopefully this will fix some of the ongoing problems Ive been having with the site. 

It'll probably happen over the next day or so, shouldn't take long unless there is a problem.  We will use this thread for bug tracking.

Clearing out some issues before moving forward.  Has the spam bot filtering been better?

I would say it has. I was growing tired of having to do bot verification almost every time I opened up something or refreshed the page

I don’t remember it since the update. But then I didn’t get it that much anyway for some reason.  And just the check to see if human. No pictures…maybe once, can’t remember which site that happened on.

I have enabled registration again:  it’s been six months but things were not working correctly with the spammers.  Should be good moving forward.

This situation with the verifying is horrible. I am having to reverify every time I change pages. Very frustrating.

Agreed. It’s much worse for me now than it used to be

I wonder why mine only needs to be verified when I have not been posting for half a day or more usually.  Sometimes it happens with a long post that has taken me way to long to write and proofread before I hit “submit”.

But on the bright side I'm getting really good and identifying cars, busses, motorcycles, crosswalks, and bridges.  It has helped me to become a better driver.

I wish it was the one picture with multiple pieces verses the multiple pictures. I can see cars, motorcycles etc on the one picture. I cannot always tell what I am looking for on that tiny little picture on the multis on my phone. I just end up pushing on them hoping that is a tiny traffic light among all that other stuff.

A couple of weeks ago, just to mess with the AI's brain (it's not a sin to deliberately be a jerk to an AI, is it?), I started selecting ONLY wrong answers.  I did this for well over a dozen different sets of images.  Then... seemingly out of nowhere... it evidently concluded I was human and let me in!

My guess is the AI figured out that only a human could be so intentionally obtuse as to consistently get ZERO correct.

The AI being able to deduce that I was a human from my deliberate disobedience to its instructions is a bit unnerving.  I feel like it out-smarted me.  Not that that bar is set very high, but still...

I've started just clicking on stuff that I think might be right and about 98% of the time it works.  I used to low key stress about it but now I don't care enough.
