After some time you feel something is different and finally you see it, no one in this unit is sick or has any physical problems at all, nothing not even common ailments. You ask questions and members admit that your observations are correct. They will not however speak about any reasons why. Time passes and you make a friend. This friend says that they are the only one apart from the person who is the healer of the ward/branch who knows who it is. They say that two things have to happen for someone in the unit to be healed, firstly the healer has to have met the person (like hello how are you sort of thing) then if that person gets sick the healer only has to pray that they will be healed and they are. You do not know to laugh or cry you have never heard of such a thing but then a loved one living with you gets very sick. So you do what you know, Blessings maybe more than one (they help but no cure) Doctors etc... Then one day your loved one is completely cured overnight Now you start to believe your friend and you want to know who the healer is. Your friend says the person does not want to be identified period. Members start calling you after your loved one is healed saying things like they themselves would be dead, their child would be crippled, their spouse would be in bed for the rest of their days without the healings in the unit. They urge you to leave it alone do not seek this person out. Please answer honestly Would you seek them out or Would you leave it alone. Edited February 15, 2019 by Metis_LDS missing word and grammer

rpn Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 I'd leave it alone, in the sense that I would simply thank God, and Jesus Christ for the atonement which has the very capacity that you describe. And I'd express to Him that if I could ever be that healer for someone, I'd be willing to do that too. 3

So not taking the safest route for all.

Maidservant Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 I don't get sick. All kinds of things come through the ward, schools, family--I don't get sick. I think I had food poisoning on Jan 1. The last time I recall being sick before then had to have been over five years ago. Or I should say, I don't get infectious diseases. But I have been low energy sick and such from improper eating most of my life, and 'emotionally' and 'mentally sick' also from nutritional deficiencies. Which for the most part I have learned to solve i.e. new habits. But that has taken me decades.

The Lord always felt compassion for those that suffer in the body. To me it seems that even as some will be sick in this world he really disdains that it must be IMO. 1

In all situations, we still thank God for his mercy and kindness towards us, our families, friends, and community. I don't really see a difference with the proposition you have presented here. No, I would not seek out the individual; however, I may be more encouraged to join my own prayers to heal others. I believe that the gifts of the Spirit are real. Some truly have a gift of prayer and others of healing. 1
