Plus, look at his picture. That is a very punchable face. 1

Popular Post the narrator Posted January 31, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 31, 2019 As others have said, Hajicek is a mixed bag. He does have a legit collection, but he generally angers historians by refusing scholars to access to them. (He has the original of a poem by P Pratt that we want to include in our forthcoming Parley P. Pratt papers collection, but he wants considerable $$$ to look at them.) He also frequently over hypes what he has and has allegedly been involved in some deceit, including the theft of a Book of Mormon. My guess is that this is another of his attempts to draw attention to himself and perhaps make some $$$ over nothing. 5

pogi Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 (edited) I have been reading his website all about his greatness. At least he is honest: Quote As a middle child with preoccupied parents, one can never get enough approval or affection, and I consequently still need affection and approval as an adult. That is, I suppose, what makes middle children create Internet sites like this one. That pretty much sums up what this guy is all about. Does anyone else get the sense that there is something very effeminate and possibly gay about this guy? He comes off as a highly religious closet homosexual to me. He brags about everything in his life except his marriage and his wife. No mention of her. No pictures. I am assuming divorced. I don't know, his pictures, the way he dresses, his hair, his obsession with diet/exercise and appearances, and his language is all a bit flamboyant and stereo-typically gay. Am I wrong? Just an observation. One thing I don't get about his personal history is that he says the following contradictory statements: Quote I volunteer one-fourth of my time to church-related responsibilities in Wisconsin. That is stated in a fort of side-note to everything else he achieves and accomplishes with his time 1/4 of his time? Really? Then later in the same essay about himself, he says: Quote I have been an independent Bible researcher since I was in grade school. I have never regularly attended church, and probably never will, but I try to live those values. This guy is something else. Edited January 31, 2019 by pogi
Popular Post Calm Posted January 31, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 31, 2019 I get he has put his life out there in public, but speculating about his home life, etc. is inappropriate, imo. 6

Just an observation. I think he's a single Dad (iirc, I read that somewhere on his site). I'm not real comfortable with all that he posts about his kids (with pics, etc.), but that's probably just me being sensitive about that because I'm extremely private and protective in that area of my life. But, I don't think we should be commenting on whether or not he's gay or a "closet homosexual". He very well could be gay and may be very open about that. Whether he is gay or not doesn't really affect how I feel about him professionally or about his work (it's none of my business). I'll wait to see where this goes and what this manuscript is. I don't see a personal attack in that quote. I am just wondering out loud, nothing wrong with that. No personal judgment about him, it is just something that people do. There is nothing wrong with that. It is very human to speculate about things like that. It is such a common thing that the term is in the dictionary - "gaydar". It is commonly used among homosexuals but straight people use the term too. I can understand how in the context of the rest of my post it might have come off that way. That is unfortunate. But I was not attacking his sexuality, just speculating. Edited January 31, 2019 by pogi 1

In a Facebook post about a painting of Joseph and Hyrum he acquired, he put at the bottom: Quote For those who read to the bottom of this post, yes, the rumors are true: I own a 120-page manuscript with the name of Joseph Smith on it, from when he lived in Palmyra, N.Y. (it is the oldest known Joseph Smith manuscript). But I am not taking questions. Follow me, you are going to hear more from me soon. I've never heard about him before, but his website is here. He was involved in a lawsuit with the church about an agreement to sell a historical painting to the church a few years ago. Does anyone know anything about this guy or this manuscript he says he acquired? One thing to note is that he says it's a 120-page manuscript with "the name of Joseph Smith" on it. It doesn't say signature or handwritting. That could be a very uninteresting anything. What does "Joseph Smith manuscript" mean? If it is in his handwriting (unlikely), we can rule out the lost 116 pages. If it is something he dictated, what else could it possibly be from the palmyra years? 120 pages of dictated revelations from the Palmyra years is also unlikely. Edited February 1, 2019 by pogi

Does being gay somehow make him more suspect to being fraud in your mind? . Obviously, if he is gay, the church would want nothing to do with him. What else should we speculate about? Maybe he is a light skinned black because in one of the photos he posted he is eating watermelon. It's a pretty offensive post at least to me. Perhaps others are not offended by these kinds of posts.

JarMan Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Never, ever speculate about someone’s sexuality on this board. Unless it’s Joseph, Brigham or Jesus. Then it’s okay. 2
mapman Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 His appearance and sexuality are completely irrelevant, so let's just stick to talking about the manuscript and his public activities.
