Actually, I worry that fewer men will attend priesthood after this change. 1- it's easier to skip out and not be noticed when you're in a big group. Skipping out when you're 1 of 10 is much harder to do. 2- I've seen it as a problem in RS for years than younger women had a real struggle wanting to go in to RS as they viewed it as an old lady group. From the perspective of getting more interest I think separating age groups for RS would have worked better, but the church is going the other way for Priesthood. I don't know how enthralled 18-25 year old young MP holders are going to be thrilled being thrown in with the older HP. Frankly, I'm sure the attitude will work in reverse as well. The truth is HP generally expect more from their lessons than Elders. I guess we'll see how it all shakes out.

Next up (according to my brother's guess): A two-hour block. Sacrament meeting for the first hour, then, on alternating weeks, Sunday School and Priesthood/RS Meetings during the second hour. The church renews it's commitment in 3 year blocks. That depends on how well the priests and teachers YM programming goes. If it goes well, two years, if not, 5 years.

That's why I put a question mark after my thread title. The Church is not going to turn off internet access at its meetinghouses at this point. The train long ago left the station on that. Sorry to have annoyed you, but it was not intentional. If you had clicked on the thread and read it, you would have learned very soon that it was an April Fool's joke. Perhaps getting rid of WIFI was wishful thinking. No doubt technology can be an awesome tool. As I look around in Priesthood, I would say it is also can be a distraction, to the point of being a stumbling block.

It is a practice I never take part in, and justify fooling trusting people, for the sake of embarrassing. So, I will go back and delete the joke that deceived me.
