MrSpruceMoose Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 My wife and I met on LDS Planet. I lived in Southern California and she lived in Idaho. We talked for about 5 months over the phone almost everynight. I came up for a week long visit and 2 weeks after that I moved to Idaho. A year later we were married in the Boise Temple.
PetiteLDS Posted November 16, 2017 Author Posted November 16, 2017 I would like to meet my eternal companion and am going to give online dating a try and hope for the best. Thank you all for the valuable input.

Dont know about that one, but my wife and I met on an LDS oriented singles site, called LDSSingles.com. I was looking more for female penpals, and only choosing women who lived a long way away to communicate with. It turned out that one who lived 5,000 miles away in England thought I was interesting, and sent me a "Smile". Since I had lived in the UK for a couple of years when I was teenager, I was also interested to chat with her via email, so responded. After several weeks of emailing back and forth, she came to Washington state to meet me, I asked her to marry me 5 hours after picking her up at the airport, and we got married 5 days later. That was a year and a half ago. It was just in the past week that I finally was able to come to the UK as a legal resident. I'm retired and she's still working, so this was the best arrangement. Interestingly, I got some assistance in this courtship from another member of this board, Morningstar, who provided the tickets to a concert she was singing in on the day the now Mrs. Stargazer flew in. And that was our first date -- Morningstar or her friend took some photos of us after the concert. 1
CV75 Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Almost 40 years ago I saw her across the dance floor as though a spotlight was shining on her and I thought we would be married someday. But I quickly ejected that idle thought since I was heading to grad school in a few weeks and would not get back that way again. But a mutual friend happened to introduce us near the end of the evening and the rest is history. We were engaged before I left and we were married after my first semester. 1
jkwilliams Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Three days after I arrived in Bolivia at the beginning of my mission, my companion informed me that every missionary had to submit a stool sample to the welfare missionaries to check for parasites. So, during siesta, we took a taxi to the bus transfer station, where everyone was meeting the sisters. And I handed her my sample. Not exactly love at first sight. There's a lot more to it, but that's how we met the first time. I tell her I will always be grateful that I had to go 5,000 miles from home to meet an Idaho farm girl. 3
Prima Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 I wonder if there any vegetarian LDS single gents within the age range 40-60 or is that simply asking for too much.
Guest Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 I met my Pam, while I was working in a Skating Rink. She asked my for my phone number. She did after a friend told her to stop waiting for me to ask, telling her I was very shy. We dated the next week, that was 42 years ago now, been married for 41 years. Each day, I try to live worthy of the faith that she placed in those many decades ago. I seek to be a good husband and Father everyday. Our family has grown from 3, at first, into 18, today. 1

My first reaction was "not likely", but upon reflection, there's gotta be one somewhere. Maybe more than one. Not advertising for them, but my wife and I met on LDSSingles.com, with us in different countries so no likelihood of meeting the conventional way. If you're looking for a rarish bird (which you probably are), then you'll have to look further afield! Best of luck in that endeavor!
Prima Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 I tried LDSPlanet and LDSSingles, however I did not meet anyone who was actually active LDS. Alot of fake profiles and alot of NonLDS on there. I gave it a shot and will not longer try the online dating route. Will just keep enjoying my life, if Heavenly Father blesses me with a LDS partner in this lifetime, I will truly appreciate it however I am learning to live according to his will not mine. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

rodheadlee Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) My best friend picked her up hitch hiking, it was in the late 60's. We had never heard the word Mormon at the time. She was 15, I was 17. I took her to the Alligator Farm for our first date. I had poison ivy at the time, I wore a coat in warm weather and would not touch her. She thought I was pretty weird. We dated for 2 years and then got married. We got baptized into the church 10 years later. We're still not sealed though we've been married for 44 years. one of these days.....
