I made corrections about 15 minutes ago! Why did you quote the old version?

It is automatic.  I have made corrections and still the old version comes up when I am quoted maybe two hours later.

What Trump said makes a whole lot more sense, than what Hillary said, in relation to each of their individual stances. Hillary's was a lot more hypocritical if you ask me.

How Christian of you!

Still can't make anything intelligible out of your post.

Are you sure you made corrections? It must have been really bad before.

Now get your politics out of MDDB.

If you don't like the content of my posts and threads, your recourse is to complain to the moderation team.

He did. You both have one chance to stop fighting or the thread will be closed.

A logical fallacy that the principle of free agency points out to us: there can always be someone doing worse than another. Therefore let's not fall for the claim that anyone is better than Clinton.

Logically one could reach the point of finding the worst of all.  Just perhaps Clinton is that point.

Skeptic wants religion to have no influence in politics. Who does that leave then? Big Pharma? Billionaires from other nation states? CNN and their ilk? Occupy Wall Street? The ACLU ? Planned Parenthood? Joe the Plumber? Sorry Skeptic , but in the current situation everybody gets a say, either individually or as some interest group. Sad we all don't think alike.

Last week, I started a thread linking to the Deseret News's exclusive op-ed piece written by Hillary Clinton.

It was noted then that an exclusive piece by Donald Trump would be published this week by the newspaper. Here it is. Online only, for now. I understand a printed version will follow in this Sunday's edition of the newspaper.

Please note: In the interest of avoiding getting this thread shut down prematurely, as the thread about Hillary Clinton was, I suggest that the comments here be confined to the matter of Mr. Trump's policies and campaign strategy as they pertain to Mormons and Mormonism, particularly as reflected in the op-ed piece linked to here. We all know that it is the kiss of death to a thread here to turn it into something purely political without regard to Mormonism.

He speaks of restoring conservative values.  Am all for that as LDS doctrine matches Conservatism (aka Classical Liberalism) quite well.  There is no room in LDS doctrine for Liberal, Socialist, or "Progressive" ideologies as they are in complete opposition to the Gospel of Christ; from the Plan of Salvation as described in 2 Nephi 2 to the Law of Consecration where private property is the fundamental principle.  From appointing good judges to sustaining the law.  Etc.

Is Trump perfect?  No.  But so far on the most important and critical issues, he is in the believing LDS sense.  Our downward slide as a nation has no hope of being halted for at least several generations if Hillary gets to appoint the corrupt judges she will certainly appoint in continuation of the Obama administration's policies.

I don't agree with that whatsoever but I like you and so it makes me no never mind.

FWIW  I highly doubt Trump sat down and wrote this piece

I noticed there was nothing in there about sending a significant percentage of our church members in Southern California back to Mexico.

He better not look into how this country was founded then.

That would be because the church members aren't supposed to be illegals. We believe in being subject to the rule of law.

I recognize your thoughts, I remember how ill I felt when I heard similar ideas from the pulpit. This was back when it was the John Birch Society who were foremost in such expressions.

Restoring conservative values? Conservatism matches Classical Liberalism? Are you as confused as it sounds?

Name 5 of the conservative values you think should be restored.

That is impossible. I vote my morals, my morals are formed by my religion. Would you deny me my vote.

No doubt some politicians do. Fortunately the US has its constitution that prohibits it.

I'm an old white guy, and I have no desire to impose my religion on the state. But I do want all to have a say in the functions of the state.

No! In other words you are saying that religion thinks for you and thinks for your politics.

Would you impose your religious beliefs on others?
