Popular Post Bernard Gui Posted April 3, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) My 9-year-old grandson pointed out that the 4 categories of people at the path and building in Lehi and Nephi's visions match those of the parable of the sower. What is wrong with a great, or spacious building please? Lehi and Nephi's visions of the Tree of Life are among my favorite scriptures. Salgare's "nutshell" hardly does it justice and borders on sacrilegious. It is highly symbolic. Those seeking eternal life (the Tree, the fruit of the Tree is the Love of God, and once having tasted it, the seeker is filled with joy and desires to share it with others) hold to the iron rod as they go along the path. The iron rod represents the word of God. The building represents the world. Each of us progresses along the path and our test is whether we will persist to the Tree (as in Pilgrim's Progress), or turn away for the splendors of the the great and spacious building. I am open. I own my bad behavior and while I am a skeptic I am open to anywhere God, if God is there, may lead me, in or out of the LDS Church. Are you or others who 'know" the LDS is true open to such a path? 2

He had been told that a fall from a great height would be painful if not deadly. He climbed to the top of a 10 story building and, leaning back, fell off starring at the clear blue sky. Witnesses to the event reported that as he passed each floor on the way down he exclaimed, " So far so good ! " 2
