Andrew Murray once said that what the church and individuals have to dread is the inordinate activity of the soul with its power of mind and will. F. B. Meyer declared that had he not known about the dividing of spirit and soul, he could not have imagined what his spiritual life would have been. Many others, such as Otto Stockmayer, Jessie Penn-Lewis, Evan Roberts, Madame Guyon, have given the same testimony. I have used their writings freely since we all have received the same commission from the Lord; therefore I have decided to forego notating their many references

Heb. 4.12 says... The word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints (movement of the body) and marrow (sensation of the body) and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 1Thess. 5.23 days "spirit, soul and body"

You would need to know before you can experience the dividing of your spirit, soul and body in Heb. 4.12.

Whatever type of Calvinist you are you would not be saved because God is loving and does not irresistibly impose salvation on anyone nor preteritions them like Hitler did to the Jews. All historicist views are false since they all reject the Lord Jesus who returns to reign on earth 1000 years.

In the Bible the word "church" is used in this way. Church of Jerusalem in the churches of Judea, church of Antioch in the churches of Syria, so church of Dallas in the churches of Texas. So when someone asks what church a believers belongs to they say church of _____. Where 2 or 3 or more are gathered in His name there is the Church body of Christ. The unit of the church, therefore, is a locality and is the focal point. Apostles are directly chosen by God in a region of churches to appoint Elders of a locality who in turn approves Elders of meeting places. Edited January 24, 2016 by savedwheat
