Which Critic Has The Most Rep Points?

So I'm a nerd and decided to have a look. Feel free to add to this list.

 

Some of the posters are certainly not critics. 3DOP for example is not critical, but as an active Catholic does not believe in all of Mormonism's claims. Also, someone like Bookofmormonluvr believes a lot of Mormonism, but not in the Brigham Young/Utah branch of mormonism. Anyway... here you go:

 

**EDIT: Cal has just posted (while I was typing this) that the points/posts ratio isn't reliable because points were added later than post count started. Also some points have been lost during updates and transitions. So this analysis is meaningless. The only way to make it robust is to do a count of posts and points in the last 2 years... and I've certainly not got time for that!**

I'm not sure when rep points started, so it's possible the posts to posts ratio is a fair measure.

Russell McGregor is an interesting case study. Since his board identity was rebooted some weeks ago, his total rep points have exceeded his number of posts -- or at least they had last I looked, which admittedly was a while ago.

Russell is an example of one who was on here long before rep points were instituted.

Russell was around before the first thought and firmament of ZLMB.

Rep points started in Feb 2011.  I would suggest the closest thing you could get is to find the original join date, divide total posts by number of years to yield average posting per year, then times that by 4.3 to yield likely posts since rep points were opened.

 

so around 40,000/11 is about 4000 (really rounding off for easy math) times 4.3 equals 17,000.

 

17,000 posts/10,000 points=1.7 posts per point

 

I've probably posted pretty consistently over the years.

 

Brant Gardener posted heavier in the beginning, same with Kevin Christensen and Dan Peterson but I don't know how to estimate that off of memory...

 

Nov 2003 to Jul 2015...12.5 years; Feb 2011 to Jul 2015....4.4 years.  4.4/12.5 means about 1/3 of total board existence having points.  Brant, Kevin and Dan were likely here early on and probably posted at least 3/4 or 4/5s of their posts prior to repping.  Possibly even 9/10s for Brant.

 

I was going to say that they must have begun while I was off the board. Thanks for the history.

Rob Bowman? Didn't he get hounded out back in 2013? He might have been respectful, I'm not sure that all members of this board showed him the same in return.

Rob has been busy with his doctoral dissertation, a copy of which he just sent me.  He is a great guy, and has always conducted himself as a gentleman on this board.  I had the opportunity to meet him personally at a FAIRMORMON Conference a few years ago.  I wish all the anti-Mormons could be as nice as he is.

Probably the simplest calculation is to look at the posts-to-points ratio and set a minimum base of 50 posts to ensure robustness.

 

You, for example, have a great ratio. For every 1.4 posts you create, you get 1 rep point.

Russel Mac has more points than posts and the best ratio of everyone... Not sure kinder and gentler is the requirement for points.

I was actually going to suggest him, but I hesitate labeling anyone on here a "critic".  I believe HappyJack has served as a Bishop and is still very active.  However, I do almost always agree with his posts and I'm probably considered to be a critic by most here
