Elder Callister's Ces Devotional-Blueprint Of Christ's Church

What's odd is that this has been taught for decades by leader after leader, but apparently The Spirit never thought it pertinent to inform our leaders that they were teaching false doctrine.

I disagree as think it is a false assumption to assume the Prophet should be informed by revelation of every bad notion he holds and it is an assumption that incorrectly leads some to crisis

I guess it's lucky for Elder Callister that "having a leader that is informed by God about his bad notions" isn't part of the New Testament Church blueprint.

On matters of doctrine I would certainly hope so, if not how is a prophet any different than an administrator you would find at any large church, corporation, or government entity?

Again I think that is a false assumption.  I do not biblically see prophets as always getting it right even on matter that at least in some small way tie into gospel principles

- Peter took some time before giving the gospel to the gentiles, Paul tells women to keep quiet in Church, Paul is off talking about Grace to one extreme while James implores Works to another extreme.  They are getting revealation but they are also bumbling around as they see through a glass darkly

Hopefully not derailing here, but want to say how much I appreciate the podcast you did with Kevin Christensen. In it he talks about how the church isn't always top down leadership and how it can go back up to them, for instance how Primary got started. Some ladies started it in Bountiful Utah and the leaders liked it and made it policy. Or another thing mentioned among many, is that the higher the responsibilty in the church the busier they are and don't have the time to delve into history or othe subjects. But those of us that aren't have all the time we want to come up with stuff. So the leaders are quite do-ers. And also when we have difficult issues, to not jump on it but let it sit and ponder about it while gathering information. Atleast that's what I got out of it. And it being up to ourselves to get answers sometimes. There was some great things, wish I had better recall. Oh this, so there are prophets that aren't perfect, and they surely don't want to be looked at as perfect, how would you feel in a room full of people if everyone thought you were perfect, I think that was mentioned.

Tacenda I loved Kevin's dissection of D&C 1 as well.
