What Book(S) Did You Get?

The big hope is at my family gathering today. Am holding out for one or more of: Temple & Cosmos, The God who Weeps, Rough Stone Rolling. I'll let you know.

Just in case you're not aware, Temple & Cosmos is available for free at the Maxwell Institute. Of course, I definitely understand the desire to have a nice hardcopy with all the illustrations. One of my favorite books ever.

Temple and Cosmos is one of my very favorite books... yes the illustrations are great particularly on pages 106 and 115. I love the writings on the Prayer Circle...

Years ago on a trip to visit my family in Traverse City, MI, my husband and I took the time and opportunity to visit several historical sites in various states along the way... one of the most impressive to me was standing on the battlefield at Gettysburg... the beautiful green rolling hills. I let my mind go back and imagined the two sides facing each other... American against American... the carnage... echoes from the past as men fell wounded, maimed, dead. Couldn't help but weep...

Oh, man. You know you are weird when casual references to Discworld don't faze you in the slightest. I've read far too many of these (and there are still some I haven't read yet). Out of all of them, my favorites are Mort and Pyramids.

We listened to Unseen Academicals soon after it came out. "Ook," as the Librarian would say.

I started reading The Hobbit once. The only thing I can say is that Samuel Clements description of the Book of Mormon certainly fit the experience. It was certainly chloroform in print. I have already reviewed the LOTR movies. :)
