Songs That Have Inspired You Or Have Drawn You Into Deeper Worship...

Your glory fills the heavens

Your glory fills the earth

Still You chose surrender

You gave Yourself for me

God of my salvation

Hope of righteousness

You paid the price of freedom

You took a lonely cross

[pc]

I'll bless the Lord always

Bless Your holy name

[c]

And You saw me

When You took a crown of thorns

And Your blood washed over me

And You loved me

Through the nails that You bore

And Your blood washes over me

Amazing like no other

Grace without an end

As Your word had promised

You died and rose again

Here are some from my neck of the woods.

Are there any english translations/lyrics to go with your song choices? I would love to understand why you have chosen them other than for the musical quality.

The first song, Im Ninalu, was written by the Jewish Yemenite liturgical poet Shalom Shabazi. "If the gates of the benefactors are closed, the gates of heaven are open still."

El Nora Alila, the second song, is a plea for forgiveness from God just before the Day of Atonement closes.

I think we can all agree that this song is pretty inspiring. I know Nehor has it on his ipod:

I don't have an ipod. But yes, I have seen it a few times. :)

One of the advantages of being a menace to society is a fair bit of free time.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy gets creepier when you wonder about what the ring meant:

well, if you were willing to kill me over not having read the Chronicles of Narnia you will fully flip over me not having read the Lord of the Rings...or seen the movies beyond the first one...of which i remember almost nothing...same goes for the Matrix...seen it once, can't recall a single thing about it...

I would love to see the MOTAB do this with some extra special singer. If I knew they would then I'd book myself a trip to whatever venue. I don't even know the words when I hear it. Just hearing the sounds inspires me.

Another benefit is that it doesn't play on loop in my head, ever :) My brain can't do it justice.

A powerful message of the sovereignty of God

He lowers us to raise us, So we can sing His praises, Whatever is His way, All is well

He makes us rich and poor, That we might trust Him more, Whatever is His way

All is well, All my changes come from Him, He who never changes, I’m held firm in the grasp with the Rock of all the ages

All is well with my soul, He is God in control, I know not all His plans, But I Know I’m in His hands

He clothes us now then strips us, Yet with His Word equips us, Whatever is His way, All is well, And though our seasons change

We will exalt His name, Whatever is His way, All is well

"Jesus the very thought of Thee"

"More Holiness Give Me"

"Redeemer of Israel"

and (please don't laugh):

"Life on the Moon" by David Cook. I'd be tickled if somone could guess why.

I think two of the most moving hymns to me are Amazing Grace and Ava Maria.

I can't believe I didn't list these! I also love both of these hymns!

This song strengthens my testimony that the Savior lives every time I hear or sing it.

This is the theme song from the 70's movie "Goodbye, Mr. Chips". I sang this with our school choir at the wedding of one of our teachers. The words had, and still have a strong impact on me.

As you can probably gather I am somewhat technologically challenged!! Apologies.
