The Sacred Grove in Palmyra, NY question

Long shot here but -

1. Do any of you know the Church staff who's overseeing the Sacred Grove VC renovation? It's closed until Spring '25. If we as a community don't know who that is, how can we find out?

2. Same question as 1 but about the construction / renovation contractor

I don’t and have no clue about how to unless there is advertising online about it or a church newsroom announcement that happened like with City Creek.  Have you done and searching online for news articles?

Something else that occurred to me is go on the FB relevant sites and find a post discussing it and ask for more details.  If you are lucky someone from the Church will provide the info and if not, maybe someone from the area might know.

Maybe this one profile has something on it.

Oh another idea….look up images and see if there are any that have a shot of the construction sign as that has the company info on it usually.

Time to put on your gumshoe hat:

Perhaps the Church Historian and Recorder Office (Church History Library, (801) 240-2745:  https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/elder-curtis-hill-cumorah-preservation and https://history.churchofjesuschrist.org/landing/church-history-library?lang=eng&y_source=1_MzA1ODU2NzAtNzE1LWxvY2F0aW9uLndlYnNpdGU%3D

Or the Mormon History Association: https://www.thechurchnews.com/2021/6/11/23217746/plans-to-rehabilitate-hill-cumorah-elder-curtis/

Pro tip to any parents out there visiting Cumorah with your kids. Don’t let them bring shovels for a treasure hunt. The visitor center missionaries will not be happy.

I live in Palmyra NY and I can check. Oddly enough, but maybe not, I was not even aware of this and I ride my bike along Stafford Road and the Grove quite often. I have not noticed it was closed. But  the public road is not near the grove entrance anymore like it used to be.

Just curious, but why does it matter ?

Because I have it on good authority I was the low bidder and plan on suing.

You may have a case , but most " call for bids " documents have a disclaimer that " lowest bid not necessarily accepted " , or something like that .

Sounds like a fun ride. :)

I think some here might find this, although it is not terribly recent, to be of interest.  Because of that lack of recency, I'm not sure how many people named herein, still, are part of what's happening in the Grove, but I do think it's interesting.

For what it's worth.
