I've dropped all my energy in needing the nativity scene to look like any particular thing, but it makes sense that Joseph and Mary would have traveled to stay in his family's home, and they tell me this is what family homes looked like at the time: http://lfmundy2002.blogspot.com/2014/05/first-century-israelite-house.html

So maybe baby Jesus was placed in a big speaker cone, which rocked him to sleep? 2

Tacenda Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 I hope @smac97doesn't mind if I use his topic to share this documentary. It looks pretty interesting. I heard that it's saying who really shot Joseph Smith.

Not worth the time to watch.

I heard that it's saying who really shot Joseph Smith. Not a thorough review of the movie, but focuses on one issue of the claims. Quote One person who viewed the movie described how the movie claims “Hyrum shot John once in the leg during a struggle while Joseph was out the door chasing the mob [during the attack at Carthage Jail] and firing 3 rounds. John then shot Hyrum under the chin with the exit wound through the nose. When Joseph returned to the room John shot Joseph, then Joseph shot John 3 times. Willard Richards shot Joseph in the back and pushed him out the window.” Those with historical knowledge find such a scenario not only implausible but, quite frankly, ridiculous. While there are so many factually incorrect aspects of the “Who Killed Joseph Smith?” fantastical conspiracy theory, this short blog shall focus on just one. What weapon was Joseph Smith using to shoot John Taylor? https://www.fairlatterdaysaints.org/blog/2022/01/18/what-weapon-was-joseph-smith-using-to-shoot-john-taylor-review-of-the-recent-film-who-killed-joseph-smith?

Not in a crowed room with an armed mob on the other side of the door. 3

The average height of a horse is about 60 inches at the withers. The tallest horse on record was 82.75 inches at the withers, and if that tall guy next to Moroni is six feet, then Moroni's horse would have been right up there with the tallest. When he was on his mission my brother used to draw cartoons of Book of Mormon characters with the traditional muscles of magnitude, straining while carrying around their scriptures - metal books like the images of the Golden Plates. The way Alma figured out his son Alma the Younger hadn't been studying his scriptures was that he still had skinny noodle arms. Okay, the cartoons were funnier that my description. The average height for Mayans is around 5’.
