Earthquake in Salt Lake City

Yep, first the plague, now the Wasatch Wakeup!  Least wise a mild version.  Woke me up with a gentle rocking as my bed is on wheels.  My daughter in the basement thought her bed was breaking  First earthquake she registered

The world is coming to an end. :P

I couldn’t understand why my husband was on the treadmill so early and then when I was more awake, I realized it was a slower vibration. And the shelves were squeaking.

Nah, the world is not coming to an end.  Even though I was joking with a buddy about the pending earthquakes, and this is a little freaky, no, human ability to predict the tribulations before the 2nd coming remain limited.  There's as much reason to think it's happening now, as there has ever been.

Another way to look at it, it's always a good idea to live life as if the 2nd coming will be here tomorrow.  If you need a wakeup call, then absolutely use covid and earthquakes as one.  Just don't get disappointed when you tell this story to your great grandchildren.

I see a literal wake-up call earthquake.

As in, I see the earthquake on the Wasatch Front happening early morning around 4-4:30 am until about 6-6:30 am with aftershocks.

I see a warm sunny day with rain and an unexpected cold front that brings in a quick snow fall to the valley the night before. I see green grass and patches of melting wet snow, wet grass, no ice, no sleet, no shoveling. I see melting snow and wet roads from rain. I see that the Wasatch Wake-up is a literal wake-up call. Several people are awakened as they feel the trembling of the earth beneath them and items fall around them. I see startled faces and excitement. I see scrambling for glasses, flashlights, shoes, and clothes. I see affects at the airports, the campuses, the highways, the airbases, the real estate along I15 etc., crashing glass buildings. I see a wake-up earthquake with reports of aftershocks for several days. I see hospitals, schools, college campuses and housing affected and I see a wake-up that leads to a media whirlwind and a domino effect.

I see power outages, help needed, rescues, and escapes. I see faith shaken and faith awakened. I see hearts softening and healing happening. I see refugees, rescue, service, repair and replenishment. I see shelves shaking and emptying and charity extended.

I see that as expected, Wasatch Earthquake is yet a warning shake that will wake up several who are disaffected, disenchanted, distracted and disengaged. I see Wasatch Waking up and realizing that the Time is Now.

From Rowe’s site. So what happened!  :diablo:  Spiritually speaking, of course.

My husband has been telling me there was likely going to be a ‘major’ one here one of these days since we got married...40 years ago come August, lol. Now I can finally tell him he was right.

5.7 on Richter.

Largest I've ever experienced was around a 4. It was here in Texas, near the DFW airport.

I remember the sound / feeling and thinking at the time that some idiot must have driven his pickup truck into our apartment building (we were on the third floor).

I went out to help to poor guy, but nobody was around. It wasn't until we saw the news that night that we discovered it was an earthquake.

Very appropriate for the Church to be taking measures to shore up the SLC Temple with massive shock absorbers.  It is unnerving for me to think of the Temple being hoisted on pylons during the process!  I was utterly amazed to see the Provo City Temple sitting on very long poles a few years back.

Moroni lost his trumpet on the SL temple.

Apparently lots of little aftershocks.

Did not show immediately. Scott was quicker...or I saw it here before it came up there.

Interesting site.  30 quakes over 1.5 in the last year, 21 of the in the last 24 hours.
