I personally think that these things are "real" in the fact that they can be tracked by radar, leave behind physical evidence of their existence, we have visual evidence like the video you posted and many legitimate eyewitnesses speak of seeing these UFO's. That being said there certainly is evidence of false claims as well.

You seem to hint that they exist or are "real". Is that fair to say? What is your take on these things Robert?

In the beginning - of what, it doe not say. you just assume it is the beginning of all matter; this suggests that god existed for all eternity in nothingness and suddenly, being the unchanging god that you believe he is, he changed and decided to make stuff appear out of nothing. If I said that in the beginning I did not like carrots, should we all assume that I was referring to the time when matter first came into existence? You are in fact adding to the scriptures to support your doctrine.

God created - what does the word 'create' mean. You assume it means make something to magically appear out of nothing but it does not. The word better translates as 'organize'.  If I were to say I created a masterful work of art, would you presume I make the materials appear out of nothing? Why do you impose an interpretation that is not justified by the text? You are entitled to your beliefs, but they have no support in a simple reading of the bible.

I thought the "unchanging God" of the LDS was once a dude like you and me on another planet somewhere with a Mom and Dad and "progressed" to become a "God".....and he is "unchanging" like the Bible and BOM support right?

Since 'One God' has been explained to you, and the the absence of the trinity and creation ex nihilio from the bible has been reveled to you, surely you would have stopped creating a straw man argument by forcing your non biblical beliefs onto the Book of Mormon. It would be helpful of you put the passages from the creed along side Section 20 so show where it is plagiarized so that we can have an intelligent conversation rather than just guessing what you are referring to. Your fundamental obstacle is that you have created a definition of God and are just assuming that your definition is correct and accepted by everyone, and then you set about imposing this definition on the a religious book in which you do not even belief. Not only that, you act as if you are the only one here who has read the Book of Mormon and assume that you are getting it right.

You got to be kidding ex nihillo is taught in both the Book of Mormon and the Bible

again, there is a huge difference between the doctrine of one god and the trinity where they are on in person. You assume that because you make 'one god' synonymous with 'one person' that the bible teaches the trinity. This is not the case. One God is defined in the bible: John 17:22 that they may be one, even as we are one. So we must be one in the same way that God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are one. One in purpose. Stop trying to impose your teachings from the creeds onto the scriptures. You are welcome to believe them but do not suppose that the bible or the book of mormon teaches them with the clarity that you suppose. They do not.

This is the same problem with presuming that 'create' means 'create out of nothing'. God is not a purpose, but a title. This is why Stephen could see both at his martyrdom, this is why all three were present in different locations when Jesus was baptized. One God, three separate individuals.

Which one of these Creedal affirmations say one person below especially when the Creeds teach 3 separate and distinct persons

E. Calvin Beisner

God in Three Persons

The Christian Church throughout history has found in order to remain faithful to the teachings of the New Testament regarding the person and work of Christ, it had to affirm at least the following doctrines:

The doctrine of the Trinity----that in the nature of the One True God, there are three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each fully God, Coequal and Coeternal

When we have said these three things, then—that there is but one God, that the Father and the Son and the Spirit is each a distinct person—we have enunciated the doctrine of the Trinity in its completeness.

We may condense this into a somewhat shorter statement, one which is more precise: In the nature  of the God, there are three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit ( or substance )  of the one true God, there are three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit  p 24

“The Nicene Creed, then, with centuries of theological discussion and controversy behind it, still teaches of the Trinity as the New Testament does: that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, while distinct from each other personally, are the same God”  p 153

Trinity

first used by Theophilus (A.D. 168 A.D. - 183 A.D.), or from the Lat. trinitas, first used by Tertullian (A.D. 220 A.D.), to express this doctrine. The propositions involved in the doctrine are these: 1. That God is one, and that there is but one God (Deut 6:4; 1 Kings 8:60; Isa 44:6; Mark 12:29,32; John 10:30). 2. That the Father is a distinct divine Person (hypostasis, subsistentia, persona, suppositum intellectuale), distinct from the Son and the Holy Spirit. 3. That Jesus Christ was truly God, and yet was a Person distinct from the Father and the Holy Spirit. 4. That the Holy Spirit is also a distinct divine Person.

One being. Three persons. In other words, one "what" and three "who"s. There is one being, God. There are three persons: God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The distinction is between being and person. One being, three persons. One what, three who's.

1. There is Only One God

2. The Father is God;

3. Jesus Christ, the Son, is God

4. The Holy Spirit is a Person, is eternal and is therefore God

5. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are distinct persons.

Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary

1.       (n.) The union of three persons (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost) in one Godhead, so that all the three are one God as to substance, but three persons as to individuality.

“Within the one Being that is God, there exists eternally three coequal and co-eternal persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

(White, James R. “The Forgotten Trinity” (p. 26). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition)

Tim tebow's father is a Christian Evangelist and here is his statement on the Trinity

We believe God is Trinity, which means that He is one God who has eternally existed in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each one is fully God. God is completely unified in His diversity. All persons of the Trinity are equal , nature, and substance, but they are different in persons. All things are from the Father, through the Son, and by the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Godhead shares all the attributes of God, including eternality, freedom, holiness, righteousness, immutability, omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, happiness, wisdom, sovereignty, perfection, goodness, and justice, grace, and mercy. God is holy, which means that he is transcendent over creation. He is the source of life. Nothing exists apart from His sustaining power. Matthew 28:18–19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3–4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:1–3; Revelation 1:4–6.

Hank Hanegraaff, The Complete Bible Answer Book—Collector’s Edition (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 2008)

While it has become increasingly popular to suggest that the doctrine of the Trinity is derived from pagan sources, in reality, this Christian essential is thoroughly biblical. The word “Trinity”—like “incarnation”— is not found in Scripture; however, it aptly codifies what God has condescended to reveal to us about his nature and being. In short, the Trinitarian platform contains three planks: (1) there is but one God; (2) the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God; (3) Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are eternally distinct.

The first plank underscores that there is only one God. Christianity is not polytheistic but fiercely monotheistic. “You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me” (Isaiah 43:10, emphasis added).

The second plank emphasizes that in hundreds of Scripture passages the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are declared to be fully and completely God. As a case in point, the apostle Paul says that, “there is but one God the Father” (1 Corinthians 8:6). The Father, speaking of the Son, says, “Your throne, O God, will last forever and forever” (Hebrews 1:8). And when Ananias “lied to the Holy Spirit,” Peter points out that he had “not lied to men but to God” (Acts 5:3–4).

The third plank of the Trinitarian platform asserts that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are eternally distinct. Scripture clearly portrays subject/object relationships between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. For example, the Father and Son love one another, speak to each other (John 17:1–26), and together send the Holy Spirit (John 15:26). Additionally, Jesus proclaims that he and the Father are two distinct witnesses and two distinct judges (John 8:14–18). If Jesus were himself the Father, his argument would have been not only irrelevant but also fatally flawed; and if such were the case, he could not have been fully God.

It is important to note that when Trinitarians speak of one God they are referring to the nature or essence of God. Moreover, when they speak of persons they are referring to personal self-distinctions within the Godhead. Put another way, we believe in one What and three Who’s.

I do not believe even God operates by supernatural means, so I am unsure how to answer here.

In other words, your ignorance of LDS doctrine aside, you acknowledge that based on the bible, unchanging does must not have an absolute definition since clearly from reading the bible, God does change, but his plan does not. His purpose to bring about our eternal salvation is unchanging.

concerning 'created', when you understand this means to organize, it become clear that creation out of nothing is not being considered here. It is also interesting that it qualifies what is being referred to, namely authority, not matter. If you take the absolute definition, you fall into a problem since God himself is something. Did God create himself? If so, then at one point he did not exist.

I'm sorry, but I do not see any mention in this verse concerning creating matter out of nothing. Remember, create means to organize. You would have to ignore this rather bothersome fact in order to support your position. I can create a cake, a house, even an island if I had enough money. But creating such works does not suggest I used magic. I would have used preexisting material.

So there are 6 levels, tiers of reality regarding the nature of the Christian Biblical God - # 1 - God,  #2  - He [it] has a nature, #3 -a realm inside that nature of God,  #4-6 three persons living inside the nature of God. As a side I have read that according to the christian plato metaphysical explanation is that God is completely mind, so all of the above reside within Gods mind which makes it #7 tiers/reality for God.

You completely failed to answer my question. In fact, you seem to continually ignore all responses and just keep spitting out the same rhetoric. They are three separate and distinct persons, in other words, they are three distinct individuals. They are one God in the same way we must become one people. They are united in purpose. how is person different than being?  You and I are different people and different beings. We are different in essence because we are different people. But you are trying to argue that somehow there is a difference between being a person and a being. Can you show me this in the bible?

I’m not sure.  My opinions on the matter, necessarily, are inchoate—not fully formed because of a fragmentary picture and lack of pertinent information.  I’m not necessarily credulous of all reports or of every report of contact with crafts, with beings, and the like purportedly coming from another world.  On the other hand, there have been too many such reports, many of which come from seemingly-sane, seemingly-sensible, seemingly intelligent individuals, which seem too credible for me to dismiss the idea out of hand—to conclude, a priori, that there’s no “there there.”

We know from scripture that God has created other worlds.  In the Encyclopedia of Mormonism, s.v. “worlds,” in part, it says this (ellipses in original):

Quote

Latter-day Saint prophets and scripture teach that other worlds similar to this earth have been and will be created and inhabited in fulfillment of God's eternal designs for his children. As explained in revelations to the Prophet Joseph Smith, God has in operation a vast plan for the eternal progress of his children. In a vision given to Moses, the Lord said, "Worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose, … there are many (worlds) that now stand, and innumerable are they unto man" (Moses 1:33, 35). This same many-worlds view is echoed in other scriptures (see Heb. 1:2; D&C 76:24; Moses 7:30; Abr. 3:12).

While many of these worlds many not be inhabited, the law of averages dictates that the greater the number of a certain thing that exists, the more likely one is to find two of such things with similar characteristics.  In the case of worlds, common sense tells me that, however many worlds may exist which are un-inhabitable and which are un-inhabited , there’s still the likelihood that more worlds that just ours are in-habitable and are in-habited.

We know that free will/moral agency is integral to God’s plan for His children, and if He has children on other worlds, they, too, much possess free will.  We also know that a great battle for the souls of men began in the premortal realm, and that this battle continues here, in the mortal realm.  That means that, while many inhabitants of other worlds may have benevolent intent toward their fellow beings (such as you and me), some of them may have mal-evolent intent toward us.

To me, one of the implications of the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that only God has the power to create, while Satan has only the power to destroy, and Satan, of himself, can have no power over God’s children who possess free will except as those children choose to yield such power to him.  Can Satan more easily exercise power over beings which are sentient but which may lack full free will (beings which operate, for example, less on free will and more on instinct)?  Perhaps.  We know from scripture that spirits which were denied bodies in premortality because of their choice to follow Satan are so eager to possess bodies that, essentially, “any body will do,” including that of an animal.  Recall the case of the Savior casting out a legion of evil spirits, which then begged to be cast into the herd of swine—which, once their wish was granted, then ran, as one, headlong off of a cliff and were drowned in the depths of the sea (see Matthew 8:28-32).

If the body of a swine will do, then why not the body of an alien?  If an alien is equally possessed of sentience and free will as we are, what is to prevent one from choosing to yield to an evil spirit?  And if an alien is not equally possessed of sentience and free will as we are (such as a swine), then what is to prevent an evil spirit from taking control of the body of an alien, just as evil spirits took control of the bodies of that herd of swine?

So on other words, you are going to continue to ignore my question and fail to provide any verses in the bible that supports your doctrine? We have already established through the bible what 'one God' means so you continuing to quote more of the same simply shows that you cannot find any support for your interpretation.

I have a fairly standard view on this for a Mormon: God won't allow us to get into contact with other of His children, because that would upset the balance between faith and proof.  If we get to chatting and find out lo and behold they have the exact same plan of salvation, doctrines, etc., as we do, that would just be too in-your-face!

Thinking about it from a non-religious perspective, however, is very interesting I think.  Fermi's Paradox essentially proves there are no other civilizations within our galaxy (the chances of them arising at the exact same cosmic millisecond as ours such that they haven't completely taken over the galaxy, as we doubtless will given the time, is impossibly unlikely).
