Do you pick dandelions on Sunday?

Unfortunately these have all come up and were sprayed multiple times in the morning this winter before the temps hit in the 90s last week. 

If this weed killer works this time though I will keep in mind the temps. Even the lows average 80 degrees in July and August. Thanks!

There you go. Tacenda. Just add enough water to your yard to make it a mire and you can then pull weeds to your heart's content.

I remember early in my marriage and I was more a learning TBM. I decided my railing on my porch needed painting. But it was Sunday! It was difficult because I kept worrying about what people would think. But I really wanted to paint!

I sometimes do things on Sundays when I feel they really need to get done and shouldn't be put off until the next Saturday.  Sometimes I will schedule that next Monday as a vacation day so I can avoid working on a Sunday but I have only so much vacation time that I can use.

I think the "mire" thing is more a principle than to be taken literally, anyway, just as Sabbath day observance is about a principle more than about just taking it literally.  A day of rest is a good thing to have, just to ponder and enjoy what really matters, and all work with no or very little play time makes me feel very grumpy.

Eek! You get on the ground, on your knees?

I'd rather use a shovel, with a long handle. Easier for getting out crab grass, too, while I am at it. And that's only when Weed n' Feed doesn't get 'em! I have 2 acres with about 1/4 acre of lawn to maintain.

You do realize that dandelions are sentient beings? They can sense the presence of a lawn mower and will literally ( not figuratively ) duck down so the mower will pass them by without harm. I have also watched them be all closed up when I pass over them and within minutes open up and go directly to seed. It is all own fault for wanting a space of uniform lawn growth. Nature fights uniformity. ( unless it is a uniform field of dandelions of course )

In all honesty, I have not seen them duck, but they do recoil at the presence of a lawn mower which wacks off their beautifully, long-stemmed, yellow, rose-like flowers, and in response will  make sure their next flowers are on stems no longer than 1 inch. They are very bright ya' know - and not just in color!
