That doesn't really have any bearing on the current reality that your current President-elect is in approval rating free fall at the moment and embroiled in several scandals, conflicts of interest issues, and other concerns which are hurting him more than any president-elect before him. Sometimes I wish we did the whole no confidence vote, have a new election to put a new government in version rather than the set every four years. 2

My job was to take each student and do my best to improve their level of education as best I could. Well, the American people got what they got. They can spend the next 4 years complaining and nitpicking or they can work to take what they got and make of it the best they can. If that means praying for a bad case of laryngitis and arthritic thumbs ... I have no rep points left. So here is a verbal one. It's good advice, especially since who the president is rarely affects me that much anyway. 2

And I can understand the reasoning...because I don't understand voting for the man. Put aside all economic, foreign or other domestic policies and concentrate on those good ole "conservative family values." Here you have a man who: - has been thrice married and who brags about sexually assaulting women - has suggested he would date his own daughter if he could - was in favour of abortion and considered pregnant women inconveniences until he started running - who has appeared in pornographic films done by Playboy Add in all the other stuff and you get a mix of war crimes, constitutional infringements, etc, but sticking just with the values part and I can't imagine being in favour of any of those. 2

If either party had fielded a halfway decent candidate (Romney, Kasich, Biden, Sanders) they would have won by a landslide almost by default. Instead we got a pair of what should have both been unelectable dud candidates. Trump has the lowest approval rating of a president elect since we have started tracking it and I suspect if Hillary had won she would be facing similar statistics. 1

We can certainly remain charitable though. I wasn't charitable, I was very offended by her and I still get angry.

Yeah, given that he has an approval rating of around 40% and dropping fast I expect him to get tossed out come the next election. Wait, no...that's the PEOTUS...before his inauguration. Trudeau is sitting at 56% in a country with three major political parties and two significant minor ones a year and a half into his mandate. 1

A Funny thing is, they didn't seem to care about it back when they believed the fake news that there was no way Trump could win the election. Now, all of a sudden it's a big issue. Rather transparent hypocrisy, that. Maybe you'll get used to it after a while. It could be observed that Trump is communicating with the medium of [ahem] the millennials. Trust me, most millennials are not appreciating it. Just the other night I was hanging with my little brother talking about life and we ended up on conversation about Trump becoming president. It started with general disgust that this was happening: then he brought up his irritation that MoTab would be performing (he's active Mormon, only a little.bit off his mission). I semi-defended their position. Still frustrated because we're already painted backwards (Chamberlin was not mentioned, it was MoTab's decision that was frustrating and an embarrassment, to him). Then we bashed on Trump and commiserated the coming four years. Then we watched Nigerian comedy skits. But seriously, our generation wasn't very likely to vote for the dude (around 34%) and varies wildly with demographics. https://lawstreetmedia.com/blogs/politics-blog/the-millennial-vote-in-2016-and-beyond/ . Tweeting isn't enough to make us happy (besides, I'm not on most social media). Trump is pretty antithetical to most millennial trends (minus anti-establishment bends). As for the other points, I expect more from him. Crap, at least give it to a trusted business advisor who you wouldn't be having family dinner with. Of course I also expect someone else. Anyone else. As president. So there's that. I'd like him to be less show oriented and preferably at least a covert narcissist. And I don't think it's hypocrisy, I think it was less fleshed out before the election. Reports weren't made as to how, so it was just hinted out. I don't think it was fake news, just general expectations...from everybody...including half of trump supporters. It's not fake just because they expected wrong. With luv, BD 1

They are just doing their job, as you say the apostles are who are going there. For the umpteenth time, what is objectionable about Jan Chamberlin's behavior is not standing up for what she believes in but making a public spectacle in doing it, subjecting the Church and the choir to rampant hatred. Something comes to mind like "fifteen minutes of fame". It is hard to resist. 1

Trump can do whatever he wants and probably will but why attach the Church's name to all this? That Americans aren't terribly welcome in other countries isn't a new concept, it's sad but it's how it is. Try wearing an American flag outside in the world, it's sad but you won't get a good reception. There's appropriate bashing of Pres. Bush?! Because the Church is part of this whole thing. By acknowledging and witnessing that Trump is the leader of the country and modeling an example of the peaceful transition of power. The way the sore losers do it is likely to result in civil war. 1
