That is not an intelligence report. Just look at the quality of our links, I quoted the intelligence, and I linked to the USA intelligence website. Your own report says "Iran could theoretically produce enough weapon-grade uranium to fuel a single nuclear warhead in about 1.7 months." So that means that Iran is not building a weapon.

TheSkepticChristian Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 And ISIS is the JV team. I have a couple of spectacular bridges for sale. The most recent report, which represents the consensus of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, indicates that Iran is pursuing research that could put it in a position to build a weapon, but that it has not sought to do so. Although Iran continues to enrich uranium at low levels, U.S. officials say they have not seen evidence that has caused them to significantly revise that judgment I am simply worried that many want to force the second coming by wanting war
ERayR Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I am simply worried that many want to force the second coming by wanting war And I am simply worried that many will willingly close their eyes to reality until it is simply too late. Insert something here about eyes to see and ears to hear.
The Nehor Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 And I am simply worried that many will willingly close their eyes to reality until it is simply too late. Maybe that makes me a fundamentalist?
DJBrown Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Exactly, every generation thinks that it will happen in their lifetime but it never does and the factors you mention Robert have to happen increasingly and dramatically to usher in the second coming, president Hinckley in 2001 or 2005 said that "I don't think that at all-consuming cataclysmic even will overtake us, there is still so much of the Lord's work to be done, we and our children after us must do it " So in as much as those things will lead to the Apocalypse I still don't think it will happen in the next 50 years - I think man has to still digress into more wickedness.You have Pres Hinckley's statement wrong. He said:"I do not believe the time is here when an all-consuming calamity will overtake is. I earnestly pray that it may not."That is a big difference.
Damien the Leper Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Good grief! Who cares?!?! If it's going to happen then it'll happen. We don't need to worry about it because God is in control. All these "signs of the times" people are wasting away their lives worrying about the end when they should be worrying about those who are starving to death or mass murder of human life, etc. If you're the type to wait around faithfully comfortable in your home and religion for the apocalypse then you are reprehensible and vile. We need to save ourselves before we can be saved by God. Edited June 13, 2015 by Valentinus
JLHPROF Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 We need to save ourselves before we can be saved by God. That almost sounds like works...
Damien the Leper Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) That almost sounds like works... It's Isaiah 1. If we were to take that chapter seriously and truly enforce it as the front runner of our mission then we'd be in a much better place.Isaiah 1:1-15 describes perfectly the state of all Christianity in America. Not even the LDS church is exempt from this condemnation.Isaiah 1:16-20 is the remedy. Edited June 13, 2015 by Valentinus

How did it go?
Robert F. Smith Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Just curious, is there something that teaches the LDS to stock up on ammo and guns? Only that on December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor, Lt Howell M. Forgy, the chaplain of the heavy cruiser, the USS New Orleans, told the men to "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition," as they fired at Japanese Zeroes. The story got out and even became a number one hit for Kay Kyser and his orchestra:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJfJPxLntZU . I'll bet a lot of Mormons, including navyman Thomas Monson, got into that. Edited June 13, 2015 by Robert F. Smith
ERayR Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I really think that scripture refers to understanding the words of eternal life and not discerning the intentions and capabilities of Iran. Maybe that makes me a fundamentalist? I really think that scripture refers to truth no matter where it comes from. I did not single out Iran nor the world or domestic political scene nor the sins indulged in by the inhabitants of the world or . . .
mfbukowski Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I have faith that I have seen the savior before I came to earth and his second coming for me will be after I pass on. That's about all I need to worry about. 1

rodheadlee Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Why should anyone but the wicked be worried about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? I'm looking forward to His Return with fondness. The study of the prophecies leading to His return is not unrighteous. Yes, no man knows the hour but we should know the season or else Christ would not have said this in Matthew: 32 Now learn a parable of the afig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that ait is near, even at the bdoors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This ageneration shall not pass, till all these bthings be cfulfilled. The JST is: 38 Now learn a parable of the afig-tree—When its branches are yet tender, and it begins to put forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh at hand; 39 So likewise, mine elect, when they shall see all these things, they shall know that he is near, even at the doors;
Stargazer Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Sorry, but your saying things like this are as bad as people saying that it WILL happen right away in our lifetimes. I'm tired of it all and just grumpy about either getting too excited or too depressed with guessing. I'm content to let alone what I do not know now, and I'm tired of speculation on either side of the guessing game. I'll watch the signs, and die of old age or be twinkled. I guess its all the same, because I'll be alive at the second coming either way. Either mortal or resurrected. The Lord will hopefully have use for me in whichever state he allows me to be in. Well, darn it, I'm not tired of speculations on this subject, so don't discourage anyone from it! I love to hear people make unsupportable predictions and speculations. It's very amusing. I get a lot of laughs out of it. That being said, things are getting ever more unstable over there in the Middle East. If you thought it was bad before, that's nothing now, folks. And according to the scriptures it's going to get MUCH worse. Whooo hooo!

I quoted the intelligence report You must have a very low opinion of me if you think I want war, necessary or not. Knowing as little about me as you do I would appreciate your not making any assessments of my character. 1
PeterPear Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 President Benson taught the Book of Mormon was written for our day and thus has parallels events in Nephite history chosen by the Prophet Mormon to warn us of the Latter-Days.So I suspect, similar to the Book of Mormon, our Prophets, inspired by The Lord, will warn us specifically of the Second Coming shortly before it comes, such as when the Prophet, Samuel the Lamanite predicted the First Coming of the Lord in 5 more years (Helaman 14:2). Of the hour and day the Nephites knew not, but the year they did.So quit your worrying and follow the Prophets.Btw, that Global Warming idea At the beginning was ridiculous:http://newsbusters.org/blogs/scott-whitlock/2015/06/12/flashback-abcs-08-prediction-nyc-under-water-climate-change-june
