I'M Depressed

The things I learned on the board in the last few days are:

The truth is jello and it can't be nailed down

God may be gay and I'm a bigot 'cause I think God is hetro

Women want the Priesthood so they won't have to fall in love and get married

We can't know what's on God's mind, so how can we do His will or even get to know Him

God sends Billions to die in war (that guy never did answer his CFR)

and all this from people that hold a TR but I can't get one because i smoke and drink coffee

it's all just a metaphor anyway, right.

The good news is the government thinks it's fine if I drive an 18 wheeler, use skill saws and nail guns while ingesting 40 mg of vicoden per day along with 2400 mg of Ibuprofen. They must, they turned me down for disability.

The bad news is I have ants onboard my boat, the good news is they don't eat much.

The good news is I only need 2 bags of ice to defrost my fridge 'cause the bad news is it's almost empty.

Hey at least i have a fridge. The good news is I have a 2 year supply of pasta and rice onboard, if the ants didn't eat it yet

The good news is Patti, my wife will be home Tuesday. We've been seperated for a month, no wonder I'm depressed.

How about a prayer for safe travels for Patti! Thanks!

Thanks guys for letting me whine like a little baby. I found a scripture to make me happy. I had better get busy and lose myself helping others.

D&C 106 :

4 And again, verily I say unto you, the acoming of the Lord draweth nigh, and it overtaketh the world as a bthief in the night—

5 Therefore, gird up your loins, that you may be the achildren of light, and that day shall not bovertake you as a thief.

Be glad you haven't hurt anyone out on the road. Yesterday morning there was a horrible crash on the freeway where a couple of people were rearended by a semi truck. Their car was so mangled that the police had to completely cover it with a cloth indicating the bodies were still in the vehicle. Now breath a sigh of relief that it wasn't your truck that did that.

Hi rodheadlee,

I am having difficulty passing my DOT physical due to an arthritic condition in my arm and neck. They gave me a 30 day temporary card. But it would seem that the government is reticent about extending my permits while I am using pain medications similar to yours at bedtime only. You have succeeded in passing your DOT while using 40 mg of vicoden daily? Did you get a one year card? Two years? Maybe you are not in America?

Thanks.

tss,

My doctor knows that I am a truck driver. I have fully disclosed to proper government authority that I currently take pain medications before going to bed which wears off before I return to work. I could have easily avoided informing them. If rodheadlee can take that much vicodin and drive a truck, I do not understand why I am being hassled. I cannot discern any ill effects from the medications taken so that I can sleep more comfortably.

Update on the accident I previously mentioned. It turns out the couple that got killed were going incredibly slow and another car hit them into an oncoming semi. I was merely mentioning to Rodheadlee to try and look at the bright side of things. Can you imagine what this poor truck driver is going through?

I renewed my license but I have not taken the physical. When I was driving back in 2003-2004 they knew that I was on medication and I passed my physical. At the time I was on 30 mg per day. I was in California at the time. I was an owner operator with my own insurance.

I never thought I would get to the point where I was happier being with someone than on my own....I am very introverted.

Last time my husband left town on a business trip I started crying when I realized he was going to be home in just a few hours and that was only a three day separation.

It is remarkable how much someone can become a part of ourselves when we allow them to be. What a gift when it happens. Separation is one of the few hardships I am grateful for because it reminds me not to take for granted when we are together as I am too prone to do.

Prayers to your wife and yourself. :)

Separation?

My dad married my mom in 1946. In just a few months thereafter he left for the Cook Islands (New Zealand mission), via boat, for a 30 month LDS mission. When he returned, he was newly introduced to his nearly 2-year old first born son. A couple of days ... easy-peezy. A month ... count your blessings. :)

Come to think of it, I believe that when I was born in 1952, my father was at an archaeological dig (NWAF) in Mesoamerica [for six months]!

Yeah, I've done up to 3 months seperation, truck driving, working an out of town construction job or working on a boat. It was ok back then but more recently I've been feeling my mortality and even more her mortality. I fear one of us dying while seperated. Also since sailing across an ocean together we have become at one with each other and we both suffer when seperated.

We all react differently to drugs. I'm very sensitive to analgesics and antihistamines. One Actifed a I'm out like a light. Others can pop them like candy, and have no problems. Just be aware of how drugs effect you and be careful out there

Point taken, tss. Thanks. I see a specialist in a couple of weeks and if they can pinpoint the nerve that is causing the problem, I should be able to get off the meds.

You know rodhead, it seems like if you fail your physical, that could be a new argument in favor of disability. It sounds like you're in a lot worse shape than me, and I could get shut down for 10 mg percocet before bed. I bet they wouldn't let you drive at all if they only gave me a 30 day card. It could be a blessing. Have you thought about an attorney? I know its costly up front, but at least an initial evaluation of your case. Anyway, I'll add my prayers to the many others for you. God love you.

Ha Rod! A sign of true love for sure... if you and Patti could sail across an ocean and not head for the divorce court when you hit dry ground!!

Wherever she is now, I pray for her safe return... and for you both... and I know Rod, that one day you will be successful in your attempts to quit smoking... I know you try.

Thanks everyone for your prayers! PAtti made it home safe. She missed her plane in Salt Lake City and had to grab a different plane. I ended up driving to Atlanta to picke her up. It was 600 miles round trip. I have reliable internet again she brought the 4G with her. :)

Here is one that lifts me up when I am down:

Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King! And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness. Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy! And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever! And again I say, how glorious is the voice we hear from heaven, proclaiming in our ears, glory, and salvation, and honor, and immortality, and eternal life; kingdoms, principalities, and powers! (Doctrine and Covenants 128:23)
