Ensign Censorship Part 2

Nope, you're not seeing things. In this version, the shoulders are covered, as are the sides of the body under the arms (which the blogger insisted were unclothed in the original).

probably the only way to find out is to take it down to Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Vegas and have one of Rick's buddies check it out

It looks like that website ("The Athenaeum") is a website where users upload their own images of the artwork.

This gallery claims to be "the official online Carl Bloch gallery", and their image of the painting is the bare-shouldered image version.

So my guess after 45 seconds of internet searching is that the picture in the OP has been altered. But by whom and when...? :unknw:

Mole-people working for the Illuminati, last Tuesday.

George Bush and John Kerry got their skull and bones fraternity brothers and made a few phone calls to the Illuminatti, at that point some church leaders from the LDS church stepped in and they "shook" hands on a deal to alter all the world's famous art...... hoo hhaaaa haaaaa ahhhahahhahha

the proof of this deal is halfway down on this page!!!!!!

I think that this goes with an assumption that the ensign may not have altered the painting at all but downloaded an altered version already. Certainly if the ensign would have put this version in the magazine the same blogger and the exmormons would be claiming lds censorship when such censorship did not originate with them at all.

I think that you may have gotten it wrong. The site does not alter artwork but allows people to view artwork for free. In other words, the purpose of the site is to give people a sense of art if they cannot experience it firsthand. I don't think that they would allow altering of artwork.

Uh oh - now, if you can find the one the Ensign used, won't that be funny.

If Selek is correct on the other thread, this issue was raised as a provocative prank. So, it will may be "funny" nevertheless. If so, the question remains: "Who will get the last laugh?" :)

Thanks, -Wade Englund
