I have been away for a few weeks. Sort of fell in with my retirement. Unfortunately, had a spot of I'll health, coming back to earth now, and revisiting the Dialogue for my intellectual development

Glad to see everyone posting. Keep up the good work one and all.

Hope you are feeling better!

Unfortunately, after my initial post, had a relapse of an health issues. However, now on the road to full recovery. Part of the recovery process, is visiting this dialogue.

Now my retirement is in full swing so to speak. I can start planning ahead.

Absolutely correct.

As Count Rugen told Prince Humperdinck in The Princess Bride, "If you haven't got your health, you haven't got anything." ;)  (Seriously, though: No, I don't, in fact, believe that.  Some of the best people I have ever known also have been the ones who have faced the most serious health challenges of which I, personally, am aware: As Christ told His Apostles, "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."  Matthew 10:28, KJV.)

I do wish everyone as healthy a Merry Christmas and as happy a New Year as are possible. :)

Many thanks Kenngo. Just waiting on some final test results, and hopefully New Year, new start, or restart, depending on view point 😁

Hope you are feeling better.  Make sure you have at least one hobby. It'll help
pass the time.

Many thanks for your message, very much appreciated.

I am not having the issues from a few weeks ago, recovering has been strength sapping. My doctor has referred me to hospital for a check up and tests. Hopefully I should not have to wait to long for the outcome.

I have begun to look into a number of things to keep me busy in early retirement. Myself, and a friend have always had an interest in old trains, the steam type. There are a number of places in the North of England that operate as Historical Trusts. So that is one area of interest to occupy my time.

Brilliant.  We are train fans in our family, but I have never been able to be on a real train outside of the Heber Creeper (a short train ride mainly for kids, my son loved Thomas the Tank when he was young), just rapid transit.  Always wanted to do the overnight, dining car experience.  Agatha Christie used trains a lot in her plots and I inhaled her books when young (and now have all her mysteries).

I felt the need to share some good news on this forum. Just had some test results come back to me via my doctor, all clear. I have a hospital appointment coming up, and will be having a few tests there. As things stand I am feeling confident of the results in advance.

I just wanted to share my good news somewhere. After my friend/neighbour, I just wanted to share my relief here.
