Mortal Man Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I invite Lawrence O'DonnellI to go on Al Jazeera television and make a similar comment about Muhammed.
thesometimesaint Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Mortal Man:There was an old saying in the former Soviet Union. An American was saying that in the US we have the right to criticize an American president. To which the Russian replied so do we.
kolipoki09 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I invite Lawrence O'DonnellI to go on Al Jazeera television and make a similar comment about Muhammed.Following O'Donnell's , he was invited by Hugh Hewitt to answer whether he would dare to make similar statements about Islam. The following is a transcript of that conversation: LAWRENCE O'DONNELL: I don’t think he [Mitt Romney] believes everything in the Book of Mormon. I think he’s lying about that. It’s an insane document produced by a madman who was a criminal and a rapist. [...]HUGH HEWITT: Would you say the same things about Mohammed as you just said about Joseph Smith?O'DONNELL: Oh, well, I’m afraid of what the…that’s where I’m really afraid. I would like to criticize Islam much more than I do publicly, but I’m afraid for my life if I do.HEWITT: Well, that’s candid.O'DONNELL: Mormons are the nicest people in the world. They’re not going to ever…HEWITT: So you can be bigoted towards Mormons, because they’ll just send you a strudel.O'DONNELL: They’ll never take a shot at me. Those other people, I’m not going to say a word about them.HEWITT: They’ll send you a strudel. The Mormons will bake you a cake and be nice to you.O'DONNELL: I agree.HEWITT: Lawrence O’Donnell, I appreciate your candor.
LeSellers Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 O'DONNELL: Oh, well, I’m afraid of what the…that’s where I’m really afraid. I would like to criticize Islam much more than I do publicly, but I’m afraid for my life if I do....O'DONNELL: They’ll [The Saints] never take a shot at me. Those other people [Moslems], I’m not going to say a word about them. HEWITT: They’ll send you a strudel. The Mormons will bake you a cake and be nice to you. O'DONNELL: I agree.Which proves, of course, that O'Donnell is a gutless opportunist, as well as a bigoted ignoramus.Lehi
thesometimesaint Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Lehi:Agreed that he is a gutless opportunist, and a bigot, but an ignoramus he is not. He knows what he is doing.
Mola Ram Suda Ram Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Lehi:Agreed that he is a gutless opportunist, and a bigot, but an ignoramus he is not. He knows what he is doing.Well then that makes it all the more worse. He is a tool.
LDSGuy Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I hope that most of his listeners (if he has any) will see past this bigotry and actually do real research. I hope that people have enough common sense to ask a Mormon neighbor or coworker before believing this babbling uninformed hypocrite. I think the church is doing a great job of making its presence known with its marketing campaign and people will see through the smears of bigoted journalists.
volgadon Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 The pressing question is whether or not anyone has baked him a strudel yet.
Freedom Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I wonder just what it is that we should not believe in the Book of Mormon. It is the part about service? Or perhaps the passages on forgiveness? There is so much silliness in it I just don't know where to begin.
Stargazer Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Following O'Donnell's , he was invited by Hugh Hewitt to answer whether he would dare to make similar statements about Islam. The following is a transcript of that conversation:I about laughed myself silly after reading that. Oh, wait...
kolipoki09 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 The pressing question is whether or not anyone has baked him a strudel yet.No. Let him eat cake.
blackstrap Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Oh for the power of the "force" and interactive 3D television. ( cue the voice of Darth Vader)
T-Shirt Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I hope that most of his listeners ...All two of them? We have nothing to fear from Lawrence.....uh...what was his name again?
Kenngo1969 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I about laughed myself silly after reading that.Oh, wait...He's underestimating our Modern-Day Danite , black-clad, jack-booted hit squads who zip-line from the black helicopters into open windows of their targets.
Kenngo1969 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 All two of them? We have nothing to fear from Lawrence.....uh...what was his name again?Lawrence O'Dumb-bell. (I know ... it was real clever, but I had to do it anyway ...)
Storm Rider Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 The best we can do is to never talk about him, never mention his name, and allow his name to pass into ....who was I talking about?
CQUIRK Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 If MSNBC wants to follow the example of Utah Democrats and try to reach out to members of the church that may be more inclined to vote Democrat, or be politically liberal, then they would sack this idiot from their network.Oh well, guess they're stupid enough to think he's worth keeping.
Calm Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Is MSNBC a political organization or an entertainment one (ie. in for the ratings).
CQUIRK Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 I believe its both, and the political part of them should know better; they are to the Left of the spectrum, yet they have a man on there that fervently bashes a certain religious faith. Can we say, HYPOCRISY?
thesometimesaint Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 calmoriah:MSNBC is a entertainment enterprize with political content(Think Joe Scarborough). Faux News is a political organization of very limited entertainment content.
KevinG Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 He's underestimating our Modern-Day Danite ™, black-clad, jack-booted hit squads who zip-line from the black helicopters into open windows of their targets. ...to deliver strudel.
BCSpace Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I invite Lawrence O'DonnellI to go on Al Jazeera television and make a similar comment about Muhammed. One of the uninformed but well-meaning commentary on this said it's like saying Episcopalians can't hold public office because of Henry VIII.
Zakuska Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Lawrence has quite a history with his anti-mormon rants.http://www.google.com/search?q=romney+o'donnell&hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-Address&rlz=1I7ADRA_enUS468&prmd=imvnsu&source=univ&tbm=vid&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=2BSCT7uFIYWC2AXe9fDuBg&ved=0CG0QqwQI've seen quite a few reporters get canned for much less.(eg. Imus - "nappy-headed hos")
