Dario_M Posted March 16, 2025 Author Posted March 16, 2025 I don't really mind if the time changes. But i wish that the whole world would do it on the same time. Or just not. Right now it seems like every continent is doing it on a differend date. And that can be confusing for somebody like me (who has autisme). Because the timzones get messed up that way. Normaly there are 8 hours between the Netherlands and Utah. but right now it has changed into 7 hours. Because the United States has changed 1 hour back. But we here haven't done that yet. I mean...can you only imagine if we in Europe would do the same thing and every single country may change their time on a differend date. It would be a bit of a mess i geuss.

A. Saturday before bed B. Sunday at 2 am C. Sunday upon waking up. D Other I think the only one we bother to change is the oven since our other clocks we use for time and not decoration are wireless and tell temp and that kind of stuff these days and even the one alarm clock in the house can change on its own. A fact my husband found out by putting the alarm an hour ahead at bedtime and waking up two hours earlier because it was automatically changed at 2 am as well. Our oven I change in about 3 days after each time change when it screws me up for an appointment or something (it’s right by the door to the garage). Our microwave just stays blank and isn’t needed since it sits above the oven. I am too lazy to actually turn my head to look at a clock these days, so I just ask Alexa. My husband has made sure there is a device within voice range everywhere in the house except the bathrooms. A bit annoying, but handy for time or music unless power or internet goes out. Also for settling arguments. I got out of the habit of using a regular clock because having a clock in the bedroom is not recommended if you have insomnia (makes you worry more about not getting enough sleep as you lie awake at night staring at it) and it’s easier to change alarms on my phone than it ever was an alarm clock. I change all the manual clocks at around 4:00 PM on Saturday so as to make it easier to mentally adjust for eating times and going to bed time. B. All the electronic (cell phones), internet clocks, and atomic clocks reset themselves presumably at 2 AM. I've never stayed up to watch the clocks change, so I have no idea when they actually do it (sounds like a party a group of nerds should have sometime). C. Since I use my cell phone for my alarm clock, it wakes me up at the correct relative time. And, last but not least, we have two cars and I always forget to change the clocks in the cars until some other day. The problem I have with the waking up part on Sunday is that our ward has the 9:00 AM Sacrament meeting slot this year, and it's still pitch black outside when I get up at 7:00 AM. It really doesn't feel right. This is the same problem I have with the idea of keeping our clocks set an hour earlier all year round just so some people can have a little extra daylight in the evening: they're stealing an hour of daylight from the children that need to walk to school in the morning, and the children will be walking in the dark during the winter months. When we were in Canada the early hours would still have been in the dark and with adding a hour, the afternoon ends up darkish as well. If we are going to time change at all, makes more sense to me to include latitude as a factor and maximize the average workday/school hours including transportation to and from in the light. But it gets cumbersome very quickly. Edited March 17, 2025 by Calm 1
Dario_M Posted March 18, 2025 Author Posted March 18, 2025 (edited) You know what is bothering me a bit. That here in the Netherlands we will not change one hour back until march the 30. That's gonna take some time. A whole month. So, for the rest of the month the time differences between the Netherlands and (for example) Utah (And all the other states as well btw) will not be correct. Normally there should be 8 hours between the Netherlands and Utah. Right now it has changed into 7 hours. That's not how it should be in my opinion. The time between the Netherlands and Alabama should normally be 7 hours. Right now it has changed into 6 hours. The time between the Netherlands and Florida normally should have been 6 hours. Right now it has changed into 5 hours. Etc. Oh my.... Edited March 18, 2025 by Dario_M

Before the time change I was at the same time as my mom in Utah and only an hour different between my siblings. It made it much easier to play PikminBloom with them. Now they are finishing the cooperative parts before I awake! This is just bad. So I'm really happy with the Netherlands now because they haven't changed. Or course, on March 30th they will change and that will be wrong too. If only places didn't change, like Arizona doesn't, and then things would be so much better. 😁 1

Would it be better if the whole world would change their hour back or foward on the same day? Then we don't have all this confusion. 🤯 1 hour ago, Rain said: So I'm really happy with the Netherlands now because they haven't changed. No we haven't changed yet. So...at least there are still 8 hours between the Netherlands and Arizona right? isn't that true? Because Arizona doesn't change their time at all. I'm going to google it. Edit, yes 8 hours between us 2. Well..at least that's something. 1 hour ago, Rain said: Or course, on March 30th they will change and that will be wrong too. Just how it should be. Things start getting messed up when we change our times. But not on the same date. Plus some country's and states don't even change their time at all. Have you overdosed? Call emergency NOW please, please, please if so. If you are saying you don’t have lorazepam to take, it is all gone; if you think you are in danger of hurting yourself, still call the crisis hotline. Where is your boyfriend? Can he stay with you today and tomorrow? Call the help line to talk to professionals, we can only offer sympathy here and only if we happen by, which is erratic on Saturdays. Calm Posted March 22, 2025 Posted March 22, 2025 (edited) Dario, there is a good chance this thread will get locked and you might even be banned. Dario_M Posted March 23, 2025 Author Posted March 23, 2025 I wis i could hug my sister for the last time. I've never felt that i had a change to do that because of all the family drama between me and them. I wish i could tell her how sorry i am. That's to late now. Her body will not be transported to the Netherlands. And i'm not welcom in Portugal. My parents have made that very clear. So i'm not allowed to be at the funeral of my own sister. I need to go to my doctor to ash again for help. This waithing list takes to long.

This may be a good time**** to think about what our Church teaches about the next life, God’s family, and Christ’s Atonement. Even if such blessings aren’t currently available to you and your family right now because of not being sealed together, you all are loved by God and so truly desired blessings will eventually come to you. Future promises don’t remove the current pain in my experience, but they can help us endure any separation with hope by softening, even at times after awhile removing the despair. If there are scriptures you particularly love for any reason, maybe reading them may help even just provide a moment of quiet, maybe even peace that can support you as you face the pain. ****I say “may be” and not “is a good time” because sometimes trying to force ourselves to hope ends up with us feeling more despair. You need to do what you can for yourself rather than trying to walk on someone else’s path. Don’t assume something won’t or will automatically help, but try and listen carefully to yourself to learn what helps you and what doesn’t. I wouldn’t mention Church teachings if I didn’t see it as likely they will be comforting for you (you have been attracted to our Church and joined it in part for the comfort it has given you in the past from your descriptions), but I also know not everyone reacts the same way. Calm Posted March 25, 2025 Posted March 25, 2025 He hasn’t logged in at least since Sunday noon board time (I don’t know whether I see it as my time or someplace else because it shows hours since someone posted during the time I usually pay attention to that), so hopefully that means he is getting the help he needs. 1
