Getting exciting for sure!! I wish I could be there, sort of. Actually, my mother-in-law passed away on Monday. She was soon to turn 95 and it was definitely time for her to go and return to her husband and the Saviour. :) Her funeral is at 11:00 on the day of the eclipse. I wonder how it will affect the day.

My house is in the path of totality so don’t have to go anywhere.

You type, write, and draw cartoons? Go figure? Oh, and your head looks too big for your body.

No, I just thought that comic summed up where I am mentally at.

That's what I thought. And you don't even need special glasses? Or is that kind of scary. I'm excited for you! I bet the crowds will be rolling in soon.

Have you already been flooded by self invitations?

You definitely have to have special glasses no matter where you live.  Never ok to look at the sun, even during a full eclipse.  :)

Yes... BUT during totality the sun is not directly visible, so during totality it's okay to take your eclipse glasses off.

Unless the Oracle (Google) is wrong:  "According to NASA, it is safe to remove eclipse glasses only when the sun is completely obscured by the moon during totality, but only if you are in the path of 100% totality."

NASA should know best!  Website says total eclipses last anywhere from a few seconds to three minutes so Nehor could give it a whirl. :)

A friend of mine is an eclipse watcher, and he has a pretty good day job so it works for him.  He told me that the best view is from an elevated location, like a fairly tall hill, facing the direction the eclipse is arriving from.  He said that you can see the blackness of totality on the ground, in the distance, rushing towards you at a speed of something like sixteen hundred miles an hour.

Seems to me someone who goes by "The Nehor" might appreciate that even more than the rest of us.

Winky smile emoji.
