Hello dear members of the church. How whas your sunday going so far? Whas it great? Had you feel the Holy ghost inside of you? 🫂

Today i also went to church. Just came back actually. And it whas great. 

Dear people feel free to tell me your storie's about how your church adventer went today?

The Sabbath is my favorite day.  No rat race, and a time to connect with the Savior and the Father.

I just barely woke up so nothing to report yet.  Today is ward conference.  I so want to go to Elder’s Quorum today instead of Relief Society.  They have asked my husband to teach the lesson and I really want to be there.

I was late to Bishopric due to sleeping through alarm. So far going tiredly.

Do they speak english in your ward, or do you just get by with the little portuguese that you speak?

Both. Some Portugeuse guy have ears for us so that we can hear what he is translating for us on a distance. I have no idea who he is for the rest. Maybe is a presidend. I don't know. 

The church service it selve is indeed in Portugees. 🎭

It's definitely an adventure. We have 9 am church for the first time in years. And I'm definitely struggling with it mainly cuz I'm pregnant with twins and a big breakfast is beyond mandatory for me. So is sleep. Lots of sleep. So I'm figuring out how to balance the 2 and get out the door with a 3.5 year old who also is big on food in the morning. We're getting better at it though.

Today I had overnight oatmeal, got ready, and then immediately started cooking breakfast pt 2 as quickly as I could and took it in the car. We made it in time to sit for the sacrament. And as soon as it was done I run back out to the car to finish my food. And then I tried not to fall asleep in the rest of sacrament, because the sleep part was kicking in. 3.5 year old works to keep us awake and me unfocused. Which is actually a little comforting because I realize again that I struggle to focus on the talks no matter if it's in my native tongue (usually isn't).

But Sunday school was very good. I enjoy the engagement and questions. a couple points reminded me to focus on my concerns for the here with faith and with hope that as I do so I'll be prepared and receive the strength and blessings I'd need for the future when it comes. It was a nice personal answer as I read along some of the materials. And I was content with that being my spiritual highlight.

 

Later we'll be having a recent convert family over for lunch. They're a really nice family around our age-ish and we enjoy getting to know some of our ward this way In general. And who doesn't like food? We make empanadas and chimichurri usually when people come over. The sister missionaries may drop by to say farewell as they're both being transferred and we're going back to elders. Which I'm a little bummed about. I was excited to go out with them more and they were really sweet. 

 

Now my daughter is napping. So I can plan for a little peace and quiet for a little bit longer. Time to eat...again 😛

Congrats, so happy for you. I remember 8:30 church with kids, lol. In my old age not sure I'd handle it anymore. But it's amazing what you're capable of doing when it's a priority. The food sounds delicious for your new convert friends, and I'm glad you're socializing like that, always impressed when people take the initiative to meet and make friends with others like that.

We have 8:30 church.  That works well for me, it means I can show up early and set up the camera for the sacrament meeting broadcast in peace and quiet, and nobody is awake yet who might try to mess that up.  My ward clerk buddy is becoming a friend.  I hear about The Chosen for the first time, and get all excited.  I get home and still have an entire day.  I like Sundays.

8:30??? What a ridicelous time. Here we start church at 10:00. 

And i am happy with that. I need to prepare myself you know for the church service and everything. And that takes some time. 🧿✝️

Lol! The world is small and experiences repeat. But no, I'm definitely not in Portugal. Haven't even visited Europe yet (though I'm hoping to in the near future)

Thanks tacenda! It's been a ride. 

And I wish I could take more credit for the initiative, but my husband tends to initiate these things more than I do. Which is funny, because he is the introverted one. Still it's really enjoyabke, so I never say no to the idea.

our's is also a Spanish speaking ward, so it's already a pretty friendly and inviting place to be. I really enjoy them as a whole.

My son in law grew up in Mexico until his father took he and his brother and sister and entered the US, right after my son in law graduated high school. I have been lucky to see how he and his friends and relatives enjoy celebrations with family, it's such an important aspect in their lives. Their get-togethers always have delicious food, music and laughter. I love their traditions that surround being with families. I'll bet you have a lovely ward. I tried to get my daughter and this son in law to try a Spanish ward but it was a no go.
