Message to Christian Churches

Second best line -

Men... you can say to yourselves narcissistically and solipsistically "the church does not express what I believe properly".  Who cares what you believe!

Posted

Third best line -

"You are churches for God's sake!  Stop fighting for social justice!  Quit saving the bloody planet!"

Oh the guy who thinks we need to be sexual socialists to prevent mass murder? What is he blathering about now?

CFR.  Support or retract.  Thanks.

Nah, pointless. I will show what he said. You will respond that he attempted to correct and clarify what he said. I will point out that the distinctions aren’t significant enough to change the meaning. We will probably get bogged down talking about the definitions of specific words. Someone else will call one or both of us an incel. A short-term alliance forms to shout that person down until we get back to the original argument. I make a couple of jokes. Some land. Some don’t. It ends with both of us thinking we achieved utter victory.

Summarizing it is much quicker than playing it out and:

@The Nehor

"Nah, pointless" and, "Ain't nobody got time for that" is not a response.  Support or retract.

Thanks.

For those of us who aren’t interested in watching something without knowing the basic premise…a summary please.

It is a non-Christian who doesn’t understand Christianity lecturing churches on how they must save the poor messed up men by giving them things to live for that generally don’t fall under the gospel in just about every Christian understanding of the gospel.

Good breakdown here:

He is desperate to become relevant again after his stubborn transphobia and his recent animated crazy talk got him booted from some social media platforms.

Well if he was suppose to be giving reasons for me to join organized religion, it did the opposite for me.  It felt more like he was enticing them into a trap where they would no long have thoughts of their own, but conform to what religion wants them to believe whether it is true or not.  He seemed like a jerk trying to treat young men like they were his children and can't think for themselves.

I would really like to know why you thought that was a good video to share.

I certainly got the "This is only for straight men" message loud and clear.  And I have never heard of the guy until today.  Hope to never hear about him again.

Do you want to Counter, Confront, or Evade?

I've already made the request.  If you lack the ability or the inclination to respond, that inability or refusal speaks for itself.

He mostly avoids lgbt issues from what I remember.

Didn’t he come to prominence by refusing to use the pronouns that some of his students were asking him to use? Accused the Canadian government that it was a type of compelled speech if they made him do so.

He did but it is usually on the periphery of those issues. He was also banned from Twitter for “deadnaming” a transgender person. Yeah, my comment was probably overly simplistic. More accurate probably to say that lgbt issues aren’t central to his agenda. They are more like an attention button he presses when he wants articles written about him.

I know it's fun for you to put words in other people's mouths and to take flamethrowers mercilessly to straw men, but do not do that with me.

If I was going to go into battle with the intent of flamethrowering a strawman I can assure I have enough self-respect to believe I would decisively win. Definitely wouldn’t have it end in a draw.

Inane asshattery might play well with everybody else in your life.  I'll leave you to it.

It does. You should come see us at the local theater: “The Clinically Insane Asses and Their Amusingly Misshapen Hats”

Yes. He came into prominence by being a sane person.
