According to a poll here are Scary Associations With Every American State
Just like other countries, America has its fair share of strange occurrences and scary stories that have or are rumored to have happened in various places across the country.
Apparently Utah is scary because of the Mormons.

Wyoming is scary because of a geological rock formation. 🙄

Apparently Utah is also weird.

I've never been to Utah. Is it weird?

Like any other state it has its own unique personality. It's all a matter of individual opinion as to how weird that is.

Right. I don't think any of it should be taken as an accurate opinion of any state.

There's just not a lot that's frightening about a big rock.

We went there once. According to a legend a giant bear was trying to climb the mountain while chasing someone and his claws made the deep groves in it.

Very true.  I grew up in the area and went here on field trips in elementary school.  That legend was one of the funner options for how it got there.

Scary enough that the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" has its lurid UFO appearances on top of it.

Obviously the Grand Canyon is to blame for Arizona's "heights" scare fame.

How Many People Fall in the Grand Canyon?

Falling is not the most common death in the Grand Canyon, but it's a real hazard. Read these safety tips before your visit to enjoy the park safely.

"Dying from heat or dehydration is more common than falling off the edge in the Grand Canyon, but it is still a major concern. According to the Arizona Daily Sun in 2015, of the “55 who have accidentally fallen from the rim of the canyon, 39 were male. Eight of those guys were hopping from one rock to another or posing for pictures, including a 38-year-old father from Texas pretending to fall to scare his daughter, who then really did fall 400 feet to his death.”

I'm surprised the number is only 55.
