That doesn’t speak to lockdowns. It speaks to social distancing. There’s a difference.

What about it? I heard that if a patient is sick enough to be on a respirator, death is likely regardless.

I’m deeply concerned about reopening the temples.  My sister is a matron in a temple and she is immune compromised and I’m certain she would die if she caught Covid.

Working in the temple is voluntary. If she doesn’t feel safe, she doesn’t have to work.

And with just live ordinances, then much fewer workers are needed. Probably just a few if they keep to small groups.  They could also go to assign one worker per patron so they are just touching each other rather than a worker touching all of them. Sanitizer can be carried in pockets to be used frequently.

It will be interesting to see how it will be organized Nd if standard across temples.

I assume by “matron,” you mean she is a female ordinance worker. The only person in the temple organization with the title of matron is the wife of the temple president. Even the wives of counselors in the presidency are known as “assistants to the matron.” 
 

And Raingirl makes a good point. Service in the temple, even by ordained ordinance workers, is voluntary. If her health is at risk, she should make her concern known to the temple leadership, who, I feel confident, would readily excuse her from service or even grant a release if advisable. 
 

Calm also makes a good point. If the only ordinance work that will be going on in the near future is living husband-to-wife sealings, I’m guessing that only a small, skeleton staff will be required from the pool of ordinance workers.

let's be honest though most  temple workers are in the vulnerable category, I hope the workers that do work are wearing a mask at least and washing hands, unless they are those people that think they are immune

Actually, a lot of people have been saved by them.

Of course it is, and that is why I said: "The other act of very bad judgment..."  That's akin to the VP not wearing a mask at the Mayo Clinic.  Leaders are often so foolish, and set such bad examples.

I didn’t deny that there have been some survivors. I said death is likely. I’d call a death rate of 66-80 percent likely.

In that case, a release would be more complicated, as it would entail the release of her husband as well from the temple presidency.

The accompanying statistic was 9 out of 18, which is 50%.  Add that up and you have a lot of people.

He has admitted error in that. 
 

But all in all, I have been very impressed with Vice President Pence’s leadership of the Coronavirus Task Force.
